My two sets of 3S LIPOs act the same way, perfectly normal. I run 6S every time and the controller works perfectly. You're good to go.
I would say just as long as the battery is acting normal I...
I'm still running all Traxxas CVDs. I've only snapped two dog bones (the non-repairable ends near the diff). That probably happened after landing on that A-Arm jumping off a 2-3 rock face.
I wouldn't worry about shortening the motor wires. Unless you have the right equipment and experience, I wouldn't worry about it. I've done this numerous times and they stay on (pull test). If...
I tried the 70/30 setting today and definitely like the way it feels.
Ditto on what ReglarDude said (great tips!). I would like to add one thing: It's possible your switch got some fine dust in it preventing your ESC from turning it on.
I snapped my chassis in the same place this last winter. My fender bender was pretty lame but the cold probably contributed to the break. This was the one time I left my rollcage off and it snapped...
Considering it's not adjustable, I wouldn't think so. If you're having that particular problem, perhaps it could be how your pillow balls are adjusted, ride height or the wheels themselves?
I agree, their springs are awesome (roll cages too). I found using all 8 springs to be a bit excessive. I opted to go half and half using 4 VG Racing and 4 Traxxas Dual Rate springs.
A new stock diff will come with some sort of thick grease on the ring / pinion gear. The internal parts of the diff will leak a little bit over time. If it's leaking excessively you may want to...
Upvote for Avid! Every time I've blown a diff it's been due to stock bearings giving out and the gears chewing on the left overs. I prefer to use the Revolution bearings (metal plate facing inside).
I installed a RRR slipper after the stock slipper started to crack. The only thing I've done so far was buy an extra bearing and slipper pad.
Not on this build. The only issue I've had was driving in the snow. The shift fork for the 2 speed shifter snapped.
I've had problems after I got fine dust all over the truck. It turned out that the switch had very fine dust inside preventing it from turning back on. Also, have you tried using a Castle Link to...
I'm still using stock mounts but ever since I installed TBR skids they've been protected pretty well. I'm still using stock mounts. Iíve had minimal issues since I installed TBR. The stock mounts...
Once a battery starts going bad it's unlikely it'll recover. When my 3S LIPOs started to have split personalities like that, I would use the good one for other vehicles until I purchased a new set. ...
Inner: 12x21x5mm / Outer: 6x15x5mm
VGRacing. I also picked up a full set of their Heady Duty springs. I went with the T-Maxx Springs. They're so strong I only use 4. For the other half I use Traxxas white progressive springs.
I'm with RC-Fan on this one. I have all the upgrades he mentioned. I have an extra level of protection, a rollcage. It adds to the weight but it's saved my truck more times than I can remember.
I would think if you left it out to dry thoroughly it would still work.
That would probably void the warranty. Castle is selling the Mamba Monster 2. It's waterproof and the fan is removable from the top of the case.
I wouldn't mind applying new tread lock material on my hubs. Does anyone know what the exact type that Traxxas uses?
I have the RPMs but after looking at the Prolines I wouldn't mind getting a set.
Yokoso (Welcome) to the E-Maxx Club! My son and I had the same experience when he got his own E-Maxx (3906). It'll be a while before I let him drive my 3908 on 6S. :D
LD, you are correct. The waterproofing has no effect on the motor's arming tones.
I run 6S, conservatively (2 x 3S LIPOs in series). True, it will wreak havoc on your truck but itís all how you drive.
