Here is the thread that Skitlerz was referring too. The rally and the merv have the same chassis so the process is the same. It seems like a great idea although I haven't tried it.
You can also check for bad bearings at your crankshaft. An air leak right there will have you searching forever until you finally check those.
The video is blocked in my country...
It's all very simple. That one gear is all you need. Here are the instructions to the installation procedure.
Then you can drop the reverse servo and it will cut down on weight and taking out parts from the tranny will reduce rotational mass which will get you to top speed much quicker as Nitronaught said. I...
I really miss my T-Maxx I should have kept it but I needed the money then. I really want to build one from scratch though. Nothing fancy like the Race-Maxxes but something nice that is also reliable.

Meh. I learned something new. Now about that tooth fairy...
Why use google when you've been misinformed on these forums for several years?
Try getting a lower tooth pinion or getting a larger spur gear. A lower tooth pinion or larger spur will give you more torque and will lower the heat but it will also lower your speed. But if you're...
48 pitch is the size of the pinion hole. In order to use a 32 pitch pinion you would need a new motor that has a 32 pitch shaft size. The 1/16 traxxas motors use a 48 pitch pinion.
Well I had my truck for about a month now and I just barely broke the front a-arms yesterday. And that was only after I upgraded to a big block motor and did some cartwheels down the street. Anyway I...

Yup. I know. That's why I already ordered them. I was thinking of going with aluminum ones but decided to just go with RPM. Maybe I can get rid of most of this terrible wheel wobble.
Yay! I finally broke my first set of a-arms! RPM here I come! haha
(I've been secretly waiting to break them so I can upgrade. ;) )
I have a brand NIB Traxxas TQ 2.4 GHz Radio with Traxxas Link. It went straight from my LHS to my house and has never been opened. It comes with the 5-Channel micro receiver. Here is a link to view...
Ooooo. I like it. But it definitely wouldn't work with the wing on the MERV. At least not without some major cuts to the body.
I heard that 40W is the least you can have that will still work. Just give it a try and if you're having trouble then just upgrade to a 40W.
Now to get some shrink tubing so I can tidy up these new 4-Pole motor wires
So lately I've been having a lot of trouble soldering Traxxas connectors even after looking at several tutorials. I spent almost 20 minutes just on one wire... I finally realized that I had an old...
I searched the forums already but couldn't really find anything. Well I was running my MERV (not vxl) today and I wasn't paying attention to it and I got it into thermal shutdown :((. So I set it...
I have the Rulux wheels with some Road Rage tires. They look good. The wheels look good if you want to black out the truck too.
The second picture is after I dyed my chasis, rocker arms, and push...
The servo is covered by the warranty. Just call up Traxxas and they will work everything out for you. They have excellent customer service.
Don't reconnect the servo. It could be your servo causing the problem.
