I did this to my rally, except I changed the body out to HPI Nitro MX-1. It is now my favorite R/C.
That's a shame; most of their stuff is great! I haven't used the T-Bone Rally bumbers, but instead opted to use the T-Bone 4x4 Stampede rear bumper and stock Traxxas Stampede front bumper on my Rally...
Just realized that Losi made a 1/10 Sprint Slider too. They can be had on on-line auction for about $100 bucks. I think I kinda want one now. I'd be pretty cool to chase the cats around the house!
What about the Losi Mini Slider 1/18 Sprint? If you want something in 1/10 scale, I suggest going to "Speedy's Racing Parts com" and looking at the reader's rides and checking out the bodies they...
If you're on a budget, you could always buy Traxxas charger no. 2935; although, it would take all day to charge.
You're willing to invest in a new motor and ESC, but not lipos? If it were me, I'd stay with the stock motor and ESC and buy a nice 2S lipo instead. Like a 5000ma 50C 2S lipo. I mean, you're talking...
I've used RCRaven springs for the E-max in the rear and stock Rustler springs in the fron. Worked like a charm. RCRaven Maxx springs are pretty hefty!
Yeah, there's no heat sink.
Oh, okay. Well, it's never really bothered me.
Are you talking about having to push the trigger twice to back-up? I thought that was standard on most ESCs. Or are you talking about the reverse being set at 25% or 50% of the forward power?
The Hobbywing EZ-Run ESCs are my personal favorite.
I use a VG roll cage for the rally on my LCG Slash 4x4 with no body. I love it; very strong.
Is there anyway to tell the difference between the old and new by looking at them?
Wow, the VXL motor isn't a 4-pole? I had no idea; I've never owned a VXL motor. Then why does everyone rave about them. After knowing that, I'll never buy one.
If you're on a budget, you could get a Traxxas Funny Car motor from an on-line auction. Not for sure, but maybe your VXL ESC would work with it. With the money you'd save, you could upgrade to a 3S...
I don't think you'd see much of a difference. Have you given any thought to the Castle SCT 2400kV System?
4600kv motor paired with a 3s is probably your problem. That's just too much. Why don't you put the pinion back on that you prefer and switch to a 2s; if you have one lying around. Otherwise, I would...
You could buy an all aluminum gearbox, or you could buy a lower kv motor, or you might have binding in your driveline.
I too would recomend tweeking the throttle trim.
I think we might have something here. All the time and effort people put into being aerodynamic might be misplaced. I'm excited to try this, but I stopped doing speed runs after I got tired of fixing...
Do you actually have to cut the tires or do you just stretch them over the larger rims?
Are there heavy duty springs available for the GTRs yet?
I though rear spoilers added stability. I'm going to have to test the rollcage idea. I have a VG Rally cage I could try; I think the air will pass right through the bars - to heck with being...
I've never tried it, but I've always wondered if a rollcage would be better for speed runs instead of a body.
