Weak points are what make this hobby fun and expensive!
Check out Tower Hobbies, no shipping/no tax for us CA residents I believe.
My LHS told me late December, wonder if some of the smaller stores don't get first crack at the release.
Good point JV, hopefully not someone's leg! :fear:
I haven't seen issue with RPM arms bowing on my FLM E-maxx which is a fairly heavy truck, but maybe I will take a closer look when I get home. Arms may be one the first things to break on the X-maxx...
It seems like Traxxas has made many of the problem areas easier to get to on the X-Maxx. I don't mind wrenching on difficult problems but having to remove 20+ screws to fix one part should be thing...
Just my opinion, but the extra $$'s spent on some bigger batteries far out-weighs the issues you have to deal with when running nitro.
I'm hoping the Leopard 5682 motor will fit this truck. Any thoughts??
I hope the aftermarket companies hit this truck harder than they did the XO-1! After seeing the XMAXX I am already potting to sell my XO and my son agreed to part ways with his slash 4x4 so we can...
Don't worry, it will probably be all scraped up after a couple runs!
I run 5S all the time, less broken parts than 6a and still has great power.
Any word on how these tires perform? I am debating making the upgrade... Just emailed Rc Hornet yesterday and they are in process of making more of these hubs for the XO.
I have been trying to find those square hubs for the XO with no luck, a link would be great!
Excellent job on this thread Lizard! Got my Xo-1 unlocked tonight (have a Spektrum remote) and I'm all smiles
I have a clear body on its way Whittaker, I'm curious how your final fitment goes.
There is a XO-1 roller (but no wheel/tires) on ebay for $213 shipped, not a bad deal if you want to go that route. Once you have that chassis in your hands its nothing short of exciting, regardless...
Looks good! any before pics?
I run 21/68 on 5S with no heat issues. Was running 21/62 and only had heat issues on the beach in the summer.
There is a Novak Diablo 550 system on ebay right now for $180 shipped, 4S with dual battery connectors already set up. I havn't seen any reviews but it is a more affordable combo.
I went through 2 chassis before going with FLM on the third. The smallest cart wheel tumble can break plastic due to the wieght of the truck. Aluminum bulk heads and chassis + big bore shocks,...
How come the 2650 is faster than the 2200? The 2200 is longer, just more torque?
Dye any of your grey plastic parts black, i don't have much plastic left but things like the center transmission cover look a lot better in black.
Nice find for $100! Curious how it runs after a rebuild on the motors
GS9- I thought about going with a stiffer set of springs, but have other adjustments to make before that happens.
50 all the way around on mine, tuned for street only
Nice choice on the paddles, what offset are those rims? I have paddles on my 5s maxx and it tears up the beach.
