My wife Val did a pretty sweet photo shoot at the skate park. Here are some of my favorites!
08/08/2016 Strike a Pose...
Hit a local skate park today. I have zero experience at doing jumps, can you tell? :P
Very nice. I like the clean look of your paint job on the nitro sport body. My LS2 has a rustler body, which does the job, but really wish I could find an original.
Beautiful build, well done! That must have been tricky sourcing all of those parts.
It's a blast to bash this thing. Really, that's all I've ever known -- my childhood was all about running my Hawk-II (from which this LS2 inherited...a turnbuckle or two?) around parks on picnics....
Finally installed the new radio gear and took it out for a run today. Really feeling good now. No glitching or range issues at all. and the AVC seems to just seamlessly make me look like a better...
Beautiful, love it! Did you get it up and running yet, and if so, how are the electronics treating you?
I eventually caved and went brushless with LiPo on my LS2 (predecessor to the SRT, which...
Hey Harry! Awesome collection you got there.
Why thank you! Clearly you're an optimist. I think a pessimist might focus on the somewhat low run time to elapsed time ratio. :)
In other news, I have more gear arriving today -- a DX4C / SR4210....
In what must be becoming a trademark for me, today I didn't quite make it through a run. Shredded my motor wires due to uncontrolled wheelies! What a problem to have, though. :)
Got a wheelie bar...
I'd actually like to get this back up and running. The server I was using died a few years back, and I'm working on recovering the data.
By the way, did that wheelie bar require any modification to install? I'm looking for one for my LS-2.
Did a little transmission transplantin'. Finally!
06/29/2015 Transmission transplant - Good to get hands dirty again.
Sounds like you got some excellent use out of your fleet of hawks, well done!
Have you remedied your output yoke problem?
...says I, after yet another half year of neglecting my beloved hobby :)
I'm taking it slow at the moment, picking up some new transmission parts. Looking forward to getting things...
Cool, good info on the aftermarket stuff, thanks.
I'm currently running stock metal gears, I think from a Rustler. Pretty cool that they were compatible!
I may have bent something, as my spur...
Hey Harry! Many thanks for all your help getting it up and running in the first place.
I took it outside today for the first real run in a long time. Nothing too exciting here. I kept it around...
The LiPos are....scary.
But what a problem to have! :)
Man, I missed R/C. How did I let 4.5 years go by?
Since then, I've had a little fun with my LS-II, but not enough. It culminated in a trip to Outer Banks three years ago.
I was zooming on the...
Ask and ye shall receive!
Today's update, the 5/12/2009 WIP, adds the TCP model.
Thanks. Wasn't too bad, and a geek like me enjoys the time spent anyway. :p Also the work naturally followed what I was already doing to figure out how to upgrade my Hawk-II to an LS-II.
Great find, and looks like great shape! Needs more dirt on it though - you know what to do about that :)
I second that. I see those go for around $50. There's definitely demand for the right price - I see them come and go often.
After sitting out the entire winter...it still works. WOO!
We hit a local park for a quick run. Valerie was along with a pocket digicam to grab a few casual pics for me.
I was bored and remembered this project...so, now with more pictures! 04/08/2009 WIP
