Think i already posted this in the other gallery.
Ford and Gulf belong together :)
went for gunmetal and matte black :)
I use a castle mamba max pro with the 5700kv motor. Love it and you can even run it on 4s if you feel like it. Be prepared to upgrade your drivetrain though.
You could try to recalibrate your transmitter with the esc. The procedure is in the manual. Also make sure that the throttle neutral switch (70/30, 50/50) on the transmitter is in the correct...
afaik the rally is a 28 pinion and comes with an extra 31 for speed runs. Spur is 45.
My daughter wanted it to be light blue with white windows :)
the RPM knuckles are worse than stock in regards to axle play as the inner bearing gets pushed in too far. Either shim the bearings on the inside or go for the GPM knuckles.
Same setup, got mine last week :) What is your gearing and motor kv? Mine felt a big sluggish on 28/50 and 4600kv. The stocks feel quicker because of the smaller diameter. The tires are very gripy...
Have added shocks without limiters and merv springs to mine with tamiya block tires. Also raised the body with the stock mounts.
The GPM ones are a bit longer. Traxxas part number is 7059
Got the whole set from thetoyz. They have the GPM steel and aluminum ones.
Used some orange and black dye. Still waiting for the MMP to complete it.
The dye i used was orange. In the picture the look too red. Here is a closeup but still too red in the picture.
played around with some tire options
Dyed HPI TE37 with rally tires (26mm)
Parma foams (28mm)
mine on a new sv2 5600kv combo are extremely tight. Am going to replace them with some other 4mm connectors that work more like the traxxas ones.
Might also be the servo. Disconnect it to see if the esc will work without it.
As you can not pull back the tire, you can not properly glue them. I put a couple of drops on the inside of the rim where it meets the tire, just for safe measure but I dont think it is necessary.
They look fine, drift tires are just very hard plastic. Make sure that they fit your rims as they are quite a mess to mount. You have to heat the tires to mount them on the rim ;)
I use a cheapo gyro mostly for 3S lipo speedruns for straight line stability. With dedicated drift tires you should be able to hold a decent drift without a gyro.
Have the same tires on HPI rims. For a bit more travel I went withe the merv springs and shocks without limiters. Also raised the body as high as possible :)
The car comes with the proper tools for all the screws on the car including the wheel nuts. The HPI TE37 26mm 3mm offset wheels are a good fit for the ken block / rally. For more grip the HPI...
Am on holiday and diden't make a picture before I left. You could do the same withe integy fan by reversing it and using slightly longer screws. I used traxxas steel hollow balls as spacers ;)
I thought the design was quite strange as the fan blows the air away from the motor and there is no way for the air to flow back. I removed the original fan and put a slimmer one the other way in, so...
