Wow... go away for a couple days and the thread takes on a life of its own. Good stuff guys, good stuff.
Snook - I don't think they are jumbo kongs, I'll find out at report back.
Double G - It's...
We purchased the Hi-Tec HS-965MG for the T/B and the HS-7955TG for the steering. So I know it's not the servos. :D I certainly agree that they need to be changed from stock though.
I'll take a look... thanks.
So I got a T-Maxx 2.5 that has been dorment for a little while (15-18 mos). The last thing that was done to it was putting on a new exhaust (duel rear) and a set of those over-sized tires (forget...
I like it! Thanks a lot for the simple advice (not sure why I didn't think of this).
...but then what do you do about the on/off switch? ...and what do you do to hold it still - velcro? I hadn't considered just tossing the thing aside.
Does anyone know of a larger battery box replacement for the t-maxx? I'm tired of stuffing the 4 AA batteries (and/or hump pack) in there and needing a pair of needle nose to get it out.
"I talked to TRX cust. serv. and the tech told me to shoot a tiny shot of WD-40 into the glow plug hole and use the ez start 2-3 times for about 30 seconds each time before putting the glow plug...
Ah ha.... this is the data I needed. I think I'll invest in the better radio as the one I currently have is actually for another persons truck I'm working with. LHS had the MX-3FG FHSS on sale for...
Interesting. You guys bring in an issue I have not even considered (call it newb status) - the digital radio.
You see, I'm working on two rigs, both T-maxx 2.5s. One of them I have already put a...
Money is not really a problem, so I guess I'll take a look at the 985/7955 set-up and see where that takes me.
Thanks for the input!
Just getting back into the hobby after a long (20-22mo) hiatus. Certainly much too long this time.
Anyway, I need to change out the steering and accel/brake stock servos in a 2.5...
I'm sure thinking about it, but if I'm going to spend that kind of coin, I guess I'd like to see what folks think of them first.
Okay so I was having so much trouble with me E-Z Start system that I dediced to convert to a pull start.
One question though, where does the glow plug get power from now?
I know this is silly,...
ok... that's better than telling me my engine is trashed.
ok... I'm affraid to ask this question, but let's just say I cannot turn the flywheel counterclockwise by hand (not sure... haven't tried), what exactly does that imply?
p.s. I do believe...
Oh... the wand works fine. It'll still start my buddy's max even after I get nothing out of mine.
The RD Logics curved pipe I'm running on an original 2.5 Maxx. That makes it what... 3-4 years old? My chassis has a hole right under where the stock pipe went, for the bottom exhaust exit.
Ok guys... thanks for all the input.
I tried loosening the glow plug a little (fresh one), made sure the air filter was freshly cleaned and checked the fuel - all good.
I'm reaching the...
I have actually been using the RPM shock towers for about a year now and have had no problems what-so-ever. Shocks or otherwise - I will state however, in the interest of full disclosure, that I...
hrmmm.... hadn't thought of that possibility with the plug.
Thanks! I'll give it a try.
The RD Logics curved pipe that exits on the bottom through the hole in the pan is an awesome pipe in my experience. It seems to have increased the power of my truck throughout the power spectrum.
OK... quick details...
Ran my truck several times this spring (T-Maxx 2.5) no problems, ran great, shifted nicely, etc..
Broke it down for a good cleaning (nothing too crazy... a little more...
...and thanks for the advice.
I thought it was too, but was tyring to get confirmation.
Thanks for the input.
