Well, you guys just confirmed what I was feeling anyways. The thought would cross my mind to sell it, but then I would think I like it. So, I'm going to keep it :) thanks everyone!!
I have not played with my revo in a while since I started racing my truggy and sometimes I think about selling it. Then I think I might miss it, and should keep it just in case MT's get popular...
You are golden at about 230 to 240 range. I know you have heard it before but don't tune to temp. The engine will let you know when it is working too hard or getting too hot.
McCoy plugs are great. MC59 or MC8. Really good plugs.
I would recommend taking the engine apart and giving it a good cleaning.
It is a lot easier to use scissors to cut. I found the xxx main how to paint dvd a BIG help. You tube search xxx main how to paint. Watch the vids and it will give you a much better idea how to...
If you do decide to get a engine that needs the big block mount I would get a .21 racing buggy or truggy motor. There are plenty of them all over ranging from 150 to 250.
That 454 motor is a BEAST! If you run it in the revo get it on video cuz I want to see it :)
I also have the 50/60 setup with orange and gold springs, VDP kit #2 piston front and rear. Everything seems good but I think the rear is a little soft. I am stepping up one spring rate front and...
All I can say is WOW! Great job now let's see it moving around a track :)
My stock one is inverted, and I have a ABmodded 21tm. I am going to just get a big block 21 soon, and wanted to have a better understanding of the clutch.
Thanks to everyone. Much better understanding now!!! I just have to pick the clutch I am going to go with.
Thanks a lot Oomp. Now with tuning for the surface, if you were driving in very dusty soft dirt how would you set it up differently then when you are driving on high traction surface?
Ok, so it just adjusts the engagement point of the engine to the drivetrain? The way my car is setup now it takes off as soon as I hit it, with force. With a aftermarket clutch I can change when it...
I have been tinkering a lot with the revo and upgrading a lot of parts. I was thinking about upgrading my clutch, but what would be the benefit of a upgraded clutch? How and why would you tune your...
Where can you get the msr 1005?
Are you racing your truck or just bashing? You might end up wanting a little thicker then 500k if you are just bashing. Even with 500K my front end unloaded way too much. I ended up mixing a little...
Here is a video of a brushless Erevo, very durable:
I do have 2 spacers on each rod with the p2's. On my current setup, in that video, I did not have the shock collars compressed, at all. So, that is why it was so soft :) I'm learning. Next time I go...
I would check throttle linkage then. Take off the air filter and make sure the carb is opening all the way.
Me trying to learn to drive on my track:
Did you adjust the low speed?
It is how your suspension hangs when it is uncompressed or truck is in the air.
Rear: I have the pushrods on the most inner hole
Front: I have pushrods on the most outer hole
My rear end was way too soft, that is why it looks like I need more droop. I will stiffen it up and...
Well here it is:
That is the true sign of a nitro guy :D Same here, tearing the truck down for cleaning and maintenance is just as fun, for me, as driving it. As a matter of fact, it makes driving it more fun...
