That's funny Racer-Steve, mine mounted up perfectly.
In my experiences, OS engines are a bunch easier for newbies to use.
The head and crank case both get quite hot, and I wouldn't be surprised if the insulation on the wire melted. If you have run that setup before with no problems, I guess I wouldn't be worried though.
I highly suggest re-routing that temp gauge wire.
I'm 85% sure that the New Rusty doesn't come decked with hex hardware. And the Grey plastic definitely isn't the same composite as the black. I'm not sure how they measure up strength-wise, but the...
Hexcrews aren't stainless... they are 12.9 grade steel just like Tony's Screws; although I do agree that Tony's Screws are the best.

The transmission cases are different. Plus, chassis components are expensive. It costs around $80 just to convert a Nitro Sport to a Nitro Rustler, and they are way more similar than a Stampede and a...
Not only will weather differences change your settings, but elevation also plays a huge part. Not to mention how no two engines run exactly the same. You can't just buy two engines, break them in,...
Those will definitely NOT fit.
In your experiences it might be a solid engine... not in mine. I've dealt with many, and I have liked none.
Is it the Duratrax temp gun? Here's a digital manual: http://manuals.hobbico.com/dtx/dtxp3100-manual-v1_1.pdf
