I'm thinking maybe the 9.6v adapter is better, simply because 9.6v x 500mA is 4.8watts, while 10.5v x 350mW is 3.675watts. Does that matter in this case?

Yeah makes sense. I'd love to know which one is newer. If they adjusted the voltage/amp config I have to assume it was for a reason. In general when charging a battery, is it better to go with...
  3. Stock Traxxas 7-Cell NIMH chargers - Which is better?

I was going to loan one of my vehicles to a friend. I don't feel that he is ready to deal with LiPo yet and he doesn't have a charger for that, so I was going to give him a Traxxas 7-Cell NIMH pack...

I run Trencher tires using Traxxas All-Star Black-Chrome wheels. The plastic wheels should weigh the same between the two types, in which case, Talons are actually heavier than trenchers. If the...

Yeah I guess it just surprises me that the preset indentations are essentially off. One of the reasons I always went with those locations before is that I just assumed that was optimal - essentially...

    Chevy C-10 Body mounting holes

I'm a big fan of the 1972 Chevy C-10 body by Proline. I've gone through two of them over the years and I just finished painting my third one. When I did the first two, I simply made the body...

Thank you very much! I see that they are offered pre-glued also as part# 6771, that's even better since I suck at gluing

A stock E-Maxx is going to break constantly within the first 5 minutes of running unless you drop $150+ on just about every RPM product they make for it. This is simply due to the fact that the thing...

Tires on Brushed model - Wow!

I saw the Brushed Stampede 4x4 model in real life for the first time yesterday at the local hobby shop. I really love the new tires with the traditional monster truck V tread design. I have to say,...

Don't go E-Maxx if you're looking for "durable". It's an old design and pretty fragile overall. The Stampede is a much newer design and can really take some serious punishment.

I've been running a 1415 for years now and I only had issues with the differential once and only when all the lube in one of them dried out and the gears started to grind down. The one that still...

Well the article said they had it since 2007. Maybe the replacement will be a 4x4.

One thing to consider is that it gets HOT over there. Like 120+ I'm not sure how that would work out as far as...

That would put it at what, $600 at least? Do you think there is a market for a $600+ stampede?

I don't understand, what could be heating up the axles to the point that they would get hot enough to melt plastic?

Friction maybe? When was the last time you put lube on the axles?

If the controller wasn't bound properly, then he probably wouldn't have steering either. Though a recalibration might not be a bad idea.

What kind of battery? There might not be anything wrong with the battery but if you are trying to use a NiMH pack with LVC enabled it will cause the problem you describe.

Have you checked to see if one of your RPM arms is bent? They won't break after a hard impact like the stock arms but they will bend.

The Slash 4x4 axles will work fine, that is what I'm using now. Your LHS was wrong though, as the Stampede 4x4 versions have been released now. Thankfully the differences are minor.

Wait a sec, so using tekno axles requires the use of custom hexes (and what looks like custom bearings) also?

Sounds like another reason to go MIP imo.
