Give the following link a try. I found the page in the legacy section. Hope that helps.
I know the feeling.:o
Run the truck, snap, repair the truck. Repeat until you've had enough for the day!
I'm halfway though a job lot of parts I bought off fleabay, also on first name terms...
I used to have a Tsais exhaust but swapped to a resonator and deflector.
From what I can remember the Tsais fits behind the rear shock mount/body mount, with the header going through the gap...
+1 on the resonator and RPM skids
You can also use a deflector to help keep the truck cleaner, or there's always this mod.
I would consider a failsafe as a must - it prevents WOT runaways, whether you're a backyard basher or not.
Failsafes monitor battery strength and receiver signal. If either fall outside set...
The hpi's do need 17mm adapters, heres a link.
I've never seen both sets of centers so i can't comment on physical differences.
But if Traxxas part numbers are anything to go by, the yokes are the same, but the shafts are different. The 2.5 uses...
I run hpi Phaltlines/Blast wheels.:D
Didn't like the rims available for 40 series road rages, but then thats just my...
Thank you, I used to have a Tsais but bent it, so I went with the resonator and deflector untill I saw your mod.
It definately keeps the rear right of the truck alot cleaner. I ran a tank full...
Here's my version of danketchpel's excellent exhaust idea.
The boot should expand. Its a little bellows type that stays sealed to both the throttle body and the LSN slide.
+100 on the resonator
oldschool77, heres a photo you asked for. http://i274.photobucket.com/albums/jj256/Horneteer34/truckbodyoff.jpg
It is the freebiee on the new trucks if you live in the...
The optidrive should be a battery and loss of signal failsafe, but mine would only failsafe on low battery.
Even after re-programming the optidrive and spinning the tranny over with a battery...
Nitroxda and Yaright have hit the nail on the head:D
I've had a Tsais. Landed a jump wrong and bent it. Now got a resonator.
Have a look at this thread....
Here's my maxx
Hop Ups are:
Motor Saver Air Filter
HPi Phaltline Tyres on Blast Wheels
RPM Skid Plates
Traxxas White Progressive Springs
There was, here's the link, post #81 onwards http://monster.traxxas.com/showthread.php?t=216625&page=3
Seems like a good idea. The benefits of the tuned pipe of your choice and a rear exit exhaust.
Just been looking at the exploded parts drawing.
If you strip the bulks out of the truck, you should be left with a 2 bulks, brace and dif assembly.
You should be able to remove the bottom 2...
Wheelies won't be a problem, its the jumping that increases the chance of exhaust damage.
Engine life should be OK if you use a reputable pipe like the Tsais.
Just enjoy a cleaner truck:D
slow97, I got the Tsais pipe to keep the goo off the side of the truck. It was the only rated dual exhaust, and the twin stingers look cool.
I've now gone on to probably the most rated pipe on this...
I always have the wheelie bar on my maxx (unless I've managed to knock it off).
As the wheelie bar is clipped to the bumper, it moves with it. Maybe I was unlucky in landing a 3ft high jump?
The stinger tips aren't the problem. When the bumper mounts flex, they swing upwards into the exhaust chamber which sits in the void behind the body mounts. The exhaust gets moved, bending the header...
+2 on the Tsais. Looks good with the stingers poking out from beneath the bumper, keeps the crud off the truck, with enough performance for wheelies on demand.
As NN said, they are vulnerable to...
I've got the Tsais rear exhaust and the truck seems to run pretty good. But it doesn't like bashing, especially when you land on the rear/wheelie bar and bend the exhaust.
I'm now the proud...
Nitronaught, I tested for loss of signal by switching off the transmitter. I was not aware that the optidrive only went into failsafe mode when it detected movement. I may try re-setting the...
I noticed that my optidrive would only failsafe on low batteries and not on loss of signal, so here's my solution if you want to keep reverse and optidrive.
I bought a 'Y' lead and a failsafe....
