I run Proline Dirt Hawgs on desperados.
It looks like you have proline shocks so your good there. $200, aluminum castor blocks, steering knuckles, bellcrank and rear hubs will help with not "breaking down." Stronger axles, MIP or Teckno....
Speeds? Depends on gearing and batteries (lipo). Mid to upper 30mph. I haven't clocked mine but when it zooms past me it's pretty fast. I actually hit myself today on a jump it was hard enough to...
Ok then, CC SCT to replace the Titan 550 and XL-5
Oh my you are new. Read the forums lots of info on EVERYTHING. Don't rush it (upgrades). Enjoy your stock slash, when sh!t breaks then upgrade.
Dirt grips are made by Proline.
If you want a tire for grass don't get the Dirt Grips. Good in loose dirt but suck in grass.
Yes this it's great.
For a basher, aluminum castor blocks and steering knuckles.
I replaced steering knuckles, castor blocks, bellcrank and rear hubs with TRX aluminum. A-arms ( front/rear), shock towers, front bumper/skid plate and motor case with RPM. Parts that flex like...
Yes castor blocks are a must. My 1st break was the steering knuckle, it attaches to castor block. STRC is what you want when you upgrade the hinge pins, no more e clips.
Yes Castle Link, I have not used it yet.
How old is the boy? The SCT combo is great I run it but it may be to much for a little guy. My 5 year old drives mine and crashes into everything. I only let him drive it in open fields.
Yup fits perfect I have the same combo after my died.
Oh, let me go try to persuade it off. Thanks Billy B
I'm talking about the gear on the inside of the trans case not the spur gear lol.
I built mine for bashing and use the stock chassis. I may use the TRX LCG in the future.
The gear on the stock lay shaft is used on the STRC shaft correct? How do you remove it off the stock shaft?
Thanks doc was hopping you'd chime in.
I'm in the process of rebuilding my trans. I have the STRC lay shaft but need the AE slipper clutch. What are the part #'s and where are you guys buying it?
MIP's are nice I just installed a set. Aluminum castor blocks, steering knuckles and rear hubs are a good upgrade. But for now drive it learn it and when parts break then upgrade.
Oh then you have no chance lol.
Yeah that's a smart way to go about it. If it ain't broke don't fix it.
I just spent $50 today, RPM trans case, STRC lay shaft and some new diff gears. Spent $41 last week to on MIP c CVD axles. Yup this is getting expensive.
I'd go the Lipo route.
I figured it out.
