Cool, I've got a 5 year old who bashes in the backyard with me using his Stampede 2x VXL. Training mode for now!
I haven't had these issues yet but I might have to look into this as well. Even with the roll cage there are still stress marks by the mount holes.
The cage does add quite a bit of weight. The idea behind the cage is that it looks cool and helps protect the important stuff when you crash. Some people run them without bodies but it you do that...
Are you concerned about the loss of the "suspension" from the lower profile wheels? It should put more stress on the shocks.
I agree with this and add some new tires to the list. I'm a backyard basher, small kicker ramp and some other obstacles but I've not broken anything so far with air sometimes 8 feet up and 12 feet...
Lol, looks like you beat the snot out of it!
I like the look, I wonder if the roll cage will work under that body.
Shock caps then wait for something to break.
Looks mean, good job.
Get a crawler
Oh it wheelies just fine when it's running right
oh man that does suck.
I doubled up on the big spacers and it's a lot better.
New body and mini-Monster Jam action:
I like trashing the body... gives me a reason to get a new one and try something different :)
T-bone is stiff but bendy which is good. The Swammie is solid aluminum but I've bent both wheel screws so I've given up on it.
The stock wheelie bar is not your friend if you're going to be catching air. Swammy is good but heavy. Go with the T-bone.
Does the dashboard allow you to add another temp gauge?
The Trenchers will grip, not slip like the stock Talons so the motor will be stressed more making more heat.
Here's the current beater body on it. New one on the way to fit the roll cage.
That's a good plan, have fun.
Yeah but it was a good deal and if doesn't... more modifications!
That is a sick paint job!
