... 6S without a headache
I´m up to rebuild my brand new ERBE and make it ready for 6S without a headache. If this ever is possible …
The Parts I take out of the new one are donated to my veteran-erbe … :)
So here are the conversions and upgrades I want to do …
1. LOSI LST2 Diff´s front and rear
2. MIP Driveshafts and Spline CVD Center (MIP #08138, #11101)
I guess I´ll use the Stock output shafts at first (like Mitch316 did on his rebuild)
3. Traxxas sway bars front and rear
4. HPP Germany Motor Brace
5. HPP Germany Rear Axle Pushrod Brace
6. HPP Germany 17mm wheel hub
7. Single Servo with Hitec HS-7955TG
8. ST Racing Concepts CNC Machined Aluminum Single Steering Servo Saver Arm
9. Castle Creation Motor CC Blower Fan Shroud
10. ST Racing Concepts Heavy Duty Aluminum Steering Knuckles w/Larger Bearings
11. GH Racing Aluminum Pivot Ball Cap
12. Traxxas Aluminium Push Rods and Toe Links
So now the big Question: Is there anything missing :confused::confused:
I did think about upgrading the Diffs with Losi Front/Rear Differential Ring & Pinion, Ti Nitride [LOSB3535] but I´m not quite sure if this is necessary …
As I don’t know the Gearing I will use, I did not think about an upgrade for the Spur and pinion, although this might be a useful upgrade ??? - Which Brand to go for ?
Are there other upgrades recommended within the Gearbox ?
Is there a Servo horn in stock style made from Aluminium ?
Which one is the best one to use and what Servo Link ?
Please let me know what you think!
Helpful comments and experiences are welcome
... 6S without a headache
Today I disassembled the whole ERBE for my (diff-) upgrades and for dyeing :).
As I opened the bulkhead, to my surprise, the stock diff was leaking already …
The Revo came straight out of the box onto my operating table … never ever turned a wheel …
Is this the normal case ???
I suggest you watch it. -ksb51rl
.... gearing the REVO for 6S
OK, so as the most important mod for 6S has been done: the dying !
I ask myself the question about gearing:eek: - no anser was coming so far ...
I was googling all over the web and of course also here in this forum ... but man ... I bet rocket science is easier ... :((
So now the big question to the forum : WHAT F... GEARING IS RIGHT ????
And what Brand ????
found that Robinson Racing Gen3 Slipper Kit Steel Spur/Backplate (60T) on amainhobbies.com.
Is that the stuff I want ???
Actually I like to bash around and do not care a lot about top speed, or lets say its not my number one goal ...
So I was thinking I´ll probably go for a 19/54 or so ... thats what I read a lot ... but I do not really understand how different Spur/pineons affect Speed/acceleration ... :O.o:
thanks for your Help
OK ... the non headache thing is not working !!! :D
just spent another 600+ USD on Parts and upgrades :woot: ... headache is already here ...
It's irresponsible of you guys to show newbies like me these nice trucks and shiny parts of yours without warning how addicted one can get ! there should be a warning sign on revo's like on cigarette packs ...
Now there is no way back ... 6S is already here and a man has to do what a man has to do ...
so I will be offline for a couple days, sold my kidney to a dubious internet organ dealer to finish the build ... :D
No more wood bashing for me !!!
I thought I don't have any pressure to finish my new ERBE ... fault:mad:
I tried bashing in the woods on Saturday with the old guy and it all ended in a fiasco ...
broken front bulkhead
broken rear bulkhead
broken suspension steel pin
and while inspecting the truck I found some other issues like leaking diff and so on ...
sounds like some work ...
Man, don't have the time for two builds ... :((
