New tyres/wheels VXL
I am new to the rc world and had a small question. Can my Slash VXL 2wd rc take Bigger wheels/tyre set up? At the moment I am running my Slash completely Stock BUT a 2S lipo 7.4 battery. With the stock set up I get a Great amount of grip on road & grass(ie:football pitch) Maybe to good. It seem to flip very very easy when I turn. Even at low speeds. I run with my friends who own a Rustler vxl and E revo. They seem to have no problems at all? The rustler can take turns at full speed but try in on the Slash and it flips??? Thanks for taking the time to read my thread.
Yes it can but only to a certain point. You need to look into your suspension for things like turning. New shocks, springs, different oil and a little tuning to get it how you like it.
Welcome to the forum, I see its your first post.
It tips easier because your truck has a higher center of balance than the rustler.
There are a few things you can do to help:
Widen the stance - use the proline protrac kit to widen the width between the wheels.
Use a stiffer shock spring to reduce body lean
Try sway bars to reduce body lean
Add the STRC lcg kit to bring down the center of gravity to match the rustler.
Part of the draw with the Slash is the high center of gravity and long wheel base adds realism as you drive it.
You can add bigger tires and wheels but your center will go higher.
yup, i recomend protrack kit as well, stiffen up the suspension (just lowering it with widest mounting holes will help if nothing else) to do this you want upper shock mounts as far in as possible, and lower shock mounts as far out and close to the wheels as possible.
i also agree welcome to the forum.
and just so you know tyres is not spelled like that. its spelled tires lol. no biggy though.
