ERBE build round 2
Not much to share on this one as of yet, still playing the waiting game for some of the more important parts. And then i need to find another tray to dye the chassis. (Had a heck of a time last time on the ERBE-gt build finding a tray big enough to do the dye).
Was gonna keep the body under wraps, but I'll just keep it wrapped for now.
Faskolor Fluorescent Pink with White backer on the Pro-graphics shell.
More to come.
I will be doing a total blackout build, everything I can make black will be black.
Haven't made a choice as far as wheels yet, but i'll be running P3 suspension geometry.
Here's my normal body for it. Cant run the pink shell in the dirt. Thats just wrong haha.
Cameron I found this at the local hardware store
Got this at Walmart it was way to thin tho its a turkey tray
i found a turkey tray the last time and ended up having to do it on the bbq. too thin i did not want to risk a black RIT bath on the white stove in the kitchen. Im gonna have to try and find me one of those wash basins. That would be great.
majority of the build complete now. just missing a couple random pieces. hopefully I see those parts in the next week or so.
sorry for the lack of progress pictures.
still waiting now for the front toe links and a skid plate. thought i had a full set of spares.
i also grabbed a second set of the integy 17mm +6offset hubs. the set i have on the erbe-gt have held up really nice. no complaints on them so far.
then i just need to install the motor/esc.
nice build man i get my pans at safeway they are a little bigger then the aluminum you used.just got done dying 1 myself
Still need to swap the motor over from the Eslayer, but its just so much fun.
Integy +6mm hubs are on, as with the Black toelinks and skid plates. Truck is complete minus the esc/motor.
(still no wheelie bar yet, cant decide if i want to run it this time)
i like it, it looks so clean reminds me of my REVO-E :)
still waiting for my phaltline tires, e-revo body (blue) and robinson racing tranny gears.
^^^^what rims are those, i like^^^^
17mm HPI blast
^^^^what rims are those, i like^^^^
Not much new to report. I did just purchase a set of summit f/r bumpers and lights. Got em cheap enough, if i don't like the looks that will be spares for the Summit.
Finally installed the wheelie bar, had the MMM in it for a while when the E-slayer was waiting on parts. But that came back out when i get the E-slayer back together.
Im actually thinking the ERBE might be one of the casualties for me to get a Rally. Dont know for sure yet.
Cameron- what are those yellow wheels and tires you got on there. I like them for the track, if they don't cost a small fortune. I have been looking on ebay and found some buggy and truggy sets, until I get me esc I don't want to keep ordering other stuff.
Proline VTR dish rims and Revolver tires :)
I think i need to run a black wing if i run the pink shell.
Pink and yellow is a killer combo. Yeh the white wing is ugly :p, Black would be better.
I'm also thinking of selling to get a Rally, but then I think of two things. 6s WOT offroad thowing dirt and grass everywhere, and huge backflips off BMX tracks and half pipes. Rally can't do either of those stock
Had a HB lightning series 1/8 wing here for some reason... not sure where this came from.
Fits, but holy huge batman. might have find a different one haha
Traxxas wing just sits right in it haha
gonna dye my merv...so...what did u end up using to dye ur chassis?...and umm...how did u do it?...saw some of those rit dye at kmart the other day and was gonna get a bright red for the merv chassis...
RIT Dye in liquid form.
Boil water, add dye, remove from heat, dunk parts, let it sit. :)
You can also leave the boil over heat and it goes much quicker. 10-15 minutes over boil and its usually good.
Curious how Red would turn out, i just stick with black because i know it works haha.

I agree with Cameron stick with black it looks much better, I've seen red, blue..and they don't come out really good. You can use liquid or powder both work good. Check my mini build all dyed black.
nice build rc-fan...and thanks for the advice...
u guys are probably right...i should go with black...but...it's just that...dunno...can i go black if the red doesn't work out?
yes you can always go darker, but not the other way.
Consider that the chassis is gray, so when you put red on it it will more like burgundy, I haven't seen a 100% red, but I'd you don't like it you can dye it in black.
Scarlett Red...it came out alright.
My 3rd body option.
Also found some stickers that sorta fit on the wing lol
I like it mate...looks good. What body is that??
That is a long discontinued Proline Helios (Halo Warthog) for the Revo 2.5
Its a little short up front, but i cant mount the rear any further up without modifications. I think this will work pretty good with the Summit bumpers/lights i have on the way.
The body has been cut up on the sides, i used to run it on my old Revo with the sidepipe.
You have some very awesome builds and ideas mate...you inspired me to do the eSlayer build. I do truly like your work ;).
Thank you, sometimes i think i have more fun building the trucks than driving them.
I have sold more trucks than i would like to think of that i have never even driven.
Sell em while they are all pretty and new lol
Got the rear Summit bumper installed tonight and wired up. Front is roughed in, just need to install the bumper. I mocked it up with the ERBE shell and it looks wicked goofy up front, that bumper is SO big compared to the stocker. The rear is perfect (for me) cause it fits in nice and snug under the wing. You do have to trim some material off the top of the bumper itself to clear the wing but other than that i think it looks great.
Not sure if i will use the front bumper on here or not. Might save it for a spare on the Summit.
Small update, still waiting on parts. I ordered a couple of the HR Double Up Slipper kits. Going to put one on here and one on the E-SlayerPro4x4. I am also considering installing the Traxxas Steel center CVD's on both. Not that i have had any real issues with the stockers but is there anything i NEED to do to the steel center CVD's to prolong lifespan? I have read the odd story where they fail on people. Not my idea of fun to replace a $10 part with a $40 part if its prone to failure.
Regular maintenance on the cvds keep grease in the boots.
Have you seen the traxxas rubber wheelie bar tires with aluminum rims? Cushions the hit of the wheelie a bit
I have contemplated those all along. If i do grab a set it will just be a while im at the LHS and see them on the shelf kinda thing. I don't spend a whole lot of time on the bar as it is. Knowing the power in these things i try to respect the trigger. much easier on parts as well :)
that helios body looks sweet!!!!
Thanks, i really wish i hadn't modified it to work with the sidepipe on my old Revo. takes a bunch away from the look of it.
did you paint it? The black and yellow scheme looks nice. I bet that body would look really nice with some trenchers.
my painter guy did the paint work. i gave him the design though.
with Trenchers you say?
Hows this :)
Might have to change over some Revo body mounts and drop this down. That actually looks pretty darn good haha
I would hate to flip that over on a bash session!
that looks nice, you should lower the body:thumbup:
I would hate to flip that over on a bash session!
Whys that? It's just a body :)
Except being so low the likely-hood it ends up on the wheels is pretty low lol.
