Mechanical Engineer
Traxxas is looking for talented candidates who have a passion for technology and performance to join our expanding Engineering Team. We are seeking professional, enthusiastic, experienced Mechanical Design Engineer with excellent mechanical aptitude and strong technical communication skills. The Mechanical Engineer has the potential to work in all aspects of vehicle design and carry their designs from concept through production. These are unique products can be played with first hand. Watch as products you developed get enjoyed by people of all ages. The current opening targets development of vehicle accessories and performance enhancements across Traxxas’ broad line of products.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited school
- 2 – 5 years of experience in developing products from initial specification to production
- Ability to manage and work through multiple projects simultaneously
- Professional 3D solid modeling design experience
- High level of hands-on mechanical ability.
- Enthusiasm for automotive development and high-performance vehicles (cars, trucks, motorcycles, ATV’s, boats, aircraft, etc.)
- Collegiate design series involvement in a leadership role with Formula SAE, Baja SAE OR other equivalent design/extracurricular activities
REQUIREMENTS
- Experience in the development of consumer products from initial concept through production
- Experience in design for manufacturability and assembly of precision components. Understanding of tooling, fixtures, and manufacturing processes: Plastic injection molding, die-casting, stamping, and precision machining
- Experience with incorporating electronic components and systems into mechanical designs (LED’s, PCBA’s, wiring, etc.)
- Experience working with Asian manufacturers
- Personal experience with radio controlled vehicles and/or full size automotive vehicles. (Please elaborate on this experience in your cover letter)
