Mechanical Project Engineer
We are seeking professional, enthusiastic, experienced Mechanical Engineers with excellent mechanical aptitude and strong technical communication skills. The Mechanical Project Engineer has the potential to work in all aspects of vehicle design and development, while also leading a team of engineers and designers.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage a development team in engineering consisting of engineers and designers
- Develop product designs from initial concept to final production
- Work with multiple cross-functional teams during development and product release
- Develop and manage test plans to validate products
- Coordinate team activities to manage all aspects of development projects
- Creating 3D CAD designs and oversee designs of new products
- Set and determine priorities for team members to keep projects on schedule
- Develop and manage design project estimates
REQUIREMENTS
- BSME or MSME from an accredited university
- Experience leading and/or managing a project team of engineers and designers in product development for mid-high volume durable consumer goods.
- Project management experience, including coordination with all functional areas (Purchasing, Manufacturing, Quality, Marketing, etc.)
- 5+ years of experience with solid modeling and part/assembly design using 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, Pro-Engineer, Catia, etc.)
- Design experience for many manufacturing methods (injection molding, extrusion, machining, stamping, plating, anodizing, etc) coupled with an understanding of manufacturing methods, processes, and production assembly techniques.
- Experience designing and developing complete systems/assemblies (e.g. ground-up radio-controlled vehicle) from concept through final production.
- Passion for high-performance vehicles (cars, trucks, motorcycles, ATV’s, boats, aircraft, etc.)
- Excellent communication skills and proficiency in MS Office applications.
- High level of hands on mechanical ability
- Hands-on experience with hobby-level RC products.
- Understanding of vehicle dynamics (land, sea, and/or air) for full size vehicles and/or hobby class models.
- Collegiate design series involvement with SAE Formula, Baja SAE, Aero SAE, or similar, as a key contributor or in a lead role.

- An ideal candidate will have experience working with Asian manufacturers
