3D Artist/Animator

Traxxas is looking for a talented 3D Artist/Animator to be a part of our growing Engineering Department. This role will work closely with our Art and Media Teams creating consumer facing videos and photo-realistic product renders to support marketing campaigns and product launches. This is a role that encompasses all aspects of 3D visual graphic production, including 3D model manipulation, lighting, texturing, rendering, animation, and video editing support. The 3D Artist will strive for the highest output quality possible, while optimizing workflows to meet project deadlines. They will work with engineers, designers, and marketing managers to ensure that all 3D renderings and animations meet technical and stylistic requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Take existing product designs and CAD models, and expand details as needed to create 3D imagery and animations

Using 3D models, create texture, mapping, lighting and other techniques to create photo realistic product images, graphics, visual effects, and animations

Create custom models and assemblies of products to highlight features or for technical instruction

Create animations and motion graphics to create compelling technical videos

Work closely with video editors to compose shots into existing video media

Layout and texture a variety of 3D assets, both hard surface and organic

Assemble, light, and render 3D content for both offline, digital, and interactive/real time

Collaborate and communicate effectively with engineers, designers, photographers, and video editors to meet the high quality output needs of a project

Manage timelines and priorities across multiple projects

REQUIREMENTS

Associate degree in Graphic Design, Visual Effects, Motion Graphics, Photography, or related fields. Bachelor’s degree preferred.

5+ years minimum experience creating 3D renders and manipulating models and assemblies using Keyshot or equivalent software

Excellent eye for composition, photo-realism, and lighting

Ability to manipulate and organize CAD data from base assemblies

A keen eye for detail and consistency, and ability to craft work at a high level

Solid understanding of model optimization for real-time performance

Ability to understand and produce work within brand standards

Experience in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects)

Experience creating interactive online product presentations and product configurator tools

Strong communication, problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills to work in a dynamic environment

Understand the power of good branding and visual storytelling to educate and excite customers

Storyboard creation and execution

Mature, self-motivated, and resourceful with an outstanding work ethic

Ability to adapt, take calculated risks, test, iterate, and pivot on ideas

Understands design applications in traditional and emerging channels
