LiPo Batteries
Traxxas recommends dual 5000 mAh 3-cell 11.1 V Power Cell LiPo batteries for maximum performance. Dual 7600 mAh 7.4 V LiPo batteries or a single 6700 mAh 14.8 V LiPo battery will operate the vehicle with reduced performance. NiMH batteries are not supported.

Massive steel gears and proven 4-gear differentials transfer the power to high-strength steel driveshafts. Smooth-running CV joints are used in front. The center shafts feature greased and boot-protected outboard joints for cool-running, long-lasting performance.

Steel differential gears are built to handle the Velineon’s aggressive power curve. Sledge’s ring gears pack on 20% more steel than traditional 1/8 scale trucks so you can hammer the throttle and not hold back.

Our Most Potent VXL-6s Power System
The VXL-6s speed control is loaded with a hot new tune to extract maximum torque from the all-new Velineon 2000 kV motor. Greater efficiency delivers more power under the curve for additional mid-range punch and acceleration you can see and feel. Cooling fins are machined into the motor housing for cooler running and peak power.
Zero-Flex Aluminum Motor Cradle
A cast aluminum motor cradle with fixed gear mesh provides full-contact support for the entire motor. The cradle dissipates heat through the chassis, and features an integrated fan mount that allows for installation of an optional cooling fan (3476). Zero motor movement. Zero spur and pinon crash. Period.
Rugged C-Hubs
Sledge's heavy-duty C-hub front suspension design allowed Traxxas engineers to make the parts bigger and tougher for ultimate durability and impact-resistance. Precise steering alignment and geometry are maintained while the steel pin bushing inserts minimize wear. Beefy hardened-steel suspension pins are secured with locknuts for extra security.

High Strength Aluminum Plate Chassis
Sledge’s chassis uses flanged edges from bulkhead to bulkhead to eliminate weak points. Additional strengthening ribs add extra rigidity in high-stress locations and the side guards fit tightly to the chassis for a seamless look.
Rigid Battery Tray
Sledge’s roomy battery tray accepts a variety of 4s and 6s configurations. Battery changes take just seconds with no clips or straps required.
Aluminum Motor Cradle
Sledge secures its 2000 kV brushless motor in place with a wrap-around aluminum cradle to eliminate all flex points. Built-in bosses make it easy to attach the accessory cooling fan (part 3476 available separately).
Belted Sledgehammer Tires
The Sledgehammer’s thick tread blocks bite into rough terrain for outstanding all-surface grip. Traxxas’ tire bonding innovation keeps them locked onto the 3.8? wheels with a vise-like grip. Lightweight belting maintains the tire’s shape for a larger contact patch, more grip, and responsive handling at any speed.

Sledge’s waterproof 2275 metal gear servo competes with expensive aftermarket servos with over 20 pounds (347 oz-in) of torque @6.0 V—eliminating the need for servo upgrades.
6061-T6 Aluminum Shock Towers
Sledge’s shock towers are cut from 5 mm thick 6061-T6 aluminum and tie directly into the center brace for bulletproof strength and durability.
High Strength Hinge Pin Retainers
Heavy-duty 6061-T6 aluminum retainers hold the hardened steel hinge pins firmly in place. This allows for tighter tolerances than conventional sliding pins and sharper handling.

Steel Center Driveshafts
Super-duty solid steel driveshafts deliver power from the Torque-Biasing Center Drive to the differentials. Rubber boots on the joints seal grease in and keep dirt out.
Oversized Sealed Bearings
Traxxas equips Sledge with oversize bearings throughout the drivetrain to ensure lasting precision and performance.
Torque-Biasing Center Drive
Traditional center diffs can’t handle 6s power. Sledge’s Torque-Biasing Center Drive is filled with thick silicone fluid to distribute power evenly for full 6s thrust with every launch and corner exit.
Steel Outer Driveshafts
Solid-steel driveshafts transfer Sledge’s massive 6s power from the differentials to the wheels via heavy-duty dogbones and constant-velocity joints in front so you can be as heavy on the throttle as you want.
Steel-Gear Differentials
Sledge uses true 6s differentials to handle its ferocious power. Oversized coarse-pitch steel gears are 20% larger and 75% thicker than traditional 1/8 scale components for lasting performance.
