In addition to sponsoring THE Traxxas Off-Road Championship, Traxxas competes in the TORC Series as the sponsor of the Jenkins Brother Racing team. Mike and Mark Jenkins are no strangers to full-throttle racing, as the pair behind Jenkins Brothers Racing are experienced road racers in the SCCA's Mazda MX-5 Cup series.

Off-road racing was a new venture for JBR in 2008, and a far different discipline than the pin-point driving required for on-road sportscar racing. Why the switch? A trip to Primm, Nevada for an up-close look at short-course racing sealed the deal for the hard-driving Jenkins brothers, who saw short-course off-road competition not only as a great way to go racing, but also as the perfect fit for primary sponsor Traxxas® the number-one name in hobby-class radio-controlled cars and trucks. the over-the-top horsepower, incredible air time and go-for-it driving style of short-course racing was like R/C off-roading gone "full size."

Jenkins Brothers Racing assembled a top-flight crew and put together a competitive Pro 4X4 truck (driven by Mike Jenkins) and a Pro 2WD machine (with Mark Jenkins behind the wheel). The Jenkins brothers also added six-time Pro Light champ Jeff Kincaid to the Traxxas team as the primary sponsor of his Potawatomi BFGoodrich Toyota Tacoma. Jeff nearly clinched a seventh championship title in 2008, taking second place overall. For the 2009 season, Traxxas is also supporting Pro 4X4 driver Rick Huseman and his Monster Energy Toyota Tundra. Rick finished the 2008 4WD series with a points tie for the overall championship win, but had to settle for second place due to the tie-breaking rules.

Mike and Mark Jenkins' performance improved steadily throughout their first year of short-course racing. By the season's end, Mark had a best finish of fifth place with his Pro 2WD machine, and Mike Jenkins made the podium twice with two third-place finishes behind the wheel of his Pro 4X4 truck. In total, the Jenkins brothers posted sixteen top-10 finishes in their first season of short-course competition. As the 2009 TORC season revs up, Traxxas and Jenkins Brothers Racing look forward to exciting racing and more visits to the podium.
