TORC PRO 4x4 Driver Mark Jenkins
Mark Jenkins began his motorsports career with older brother Mike, competing in Spec Miatas and joining the SCCA's Mazda MX-5 Cup series. Mark's performance on the MX-5 Cup circuit steadily improved, and in 2008, Mark joined brother Mike in a wildly different motorsports venture: short-course off-road racing. With brother Mike in a Pro 4X4 truck and Mark strapping into a Pro 2WD machine, the Jenkins brothers plunged into short-course racing, literally full throttle. In the sixteen races, Mark finished in the top ten five times, even making the top five. The 2009 racing season brought Mark to the TORC series. Now racing in an even deeper pool of talented racers, Mark rose to the challenge and notched five top-5 finishes and broke into the top-10 for the season, finishing ninth overall in the 25-truck field. While the focus is on short-course competition, Mark splits his race time between off-road racing and the SCCA Pro Racing Playboy Mazda MX-5 Cup. In the Playboy series' 2009 season opener, Mark reached a new milestone in his racing career by leading the most laps of the event and posting the fastest individual lap time on the way to a second-place finish. At the start of the the 2010 TORC season, Mark joined brother Mike in the Pro 4X4 class and quickly established himself as a competitor with four top-5 finishes, including two second-place podium spots. In his second season of Pro 4X4 racing, Mark added five more podium visits including two second-place runs for a total of nine top-5s in thirteen starts for 2011.
