Traxxas-Sponsored Robert Hight Takes
Back-To-Back Funny Car Wins

Three races, three wins! Robert Hight and John Force have put the Traxxas-sponsored John Force Racing team at the top of the NHRA Full Throttle Racing Series Funny Car points standings. After John Force himself kicked off the season with a win against teammate Mike Neff in Pomona at the Winternationals, Robert Hight went on to win the Arizona Nats and Gatornationals back to back.

Fifteen-time champion John Force added a 134th trophy to his impressive collection with the season-opening Winternationals winin his Traxxas-backed Castrol GTX High Mileage Mustang, and notched 1,100 round-wins for his career. The victory marked a return to form for the iconic racer, who was quick to cite his success as the result of a revitalized team. “I dedicated the trophy to the brain trust, my crew chiefs Jimmy Prock, Mike Neff, Guido (Dean Antonelli), Ron Douglas, Bernie Fedderly, John Medlen, Dickie Venables, Danny from Indy (DeGennaro), and Scott Wible. We got a group back to the way we used to think and function. This was a good start,” said Force.

For Hight and his Traxxas-sponsored Auto Club Ford Mustang team, the Gatornationals win marked their second consecutive final round victory over Johnny Gray, and Hight’s 14th win in sixteen final rounds. “I have won the US Nationals and I have won both the Pomona races, but next to Indy, this is where you want to win,” said Hight. “This is a huge race. The Hall of Fame inductions are before this race so everybody from drag racing past is here for this race. They are out there watching and I have a lot of admiration for them. If it wasn’t for them, the pioneers, this sport wouldn’t be where it is today. I want to show my respect to them.”

Traxxas congratulates the John Force Racing team on their excellent start to the season, and reminds Traxxas fans to cheer all the JFR drivers on to victory: Courtney Force (Traxxas Ford Mustang), Mike Neff (Castrol GTX Ford Mustang), Robert Hight (Auto Club of Southern California Ford Mustang), and John Force (Castrol GTX High Mileage Ford Mustang).
