Support St. Jude Children's Hospital
With Traxxas at the Long Beach Grand
When Round 3 of the SCCA World Challenge series goes green at the Long Beach Grand Prix (April 15-17), driver Eric Foss and the St. Jude's/Traxxas/SPX Ford Mustang will be racing not only for the win but to generate support for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and their fight against devastating children's illnesses. You can help by following the action and pledging your donation today.
Eric Foss and the St. Jude’s/Traxxas/Amsoil/SPX Ford Mustang are already World Challenge front-runners in the GTS class, after top-qualifying and winning Round 2 at the season-opening double-header in St. Petersburg, Florida. As the action comes to the historic Grand Prix of Long Beach, Traxxas will be spreading the word about St. Jude Children's Research Hospital with a pit display, model demonstrations, and promotions encouraging race fans and spectators to donate to the cause.
"St. Jude Children's Research Hospital has a proven track record for success in dramatically improving the survival rate in children that have been hit with pediatric diseases," said Traxxas president Mike Jenkins. "We have chosen to put our support there along with our partners Amsoil, SPX and Ford. We believe that people want to contribute to meaningful charities so we created this opportunity through racing to bring awareness and provide a fun way to pledge donations to St Jude Children's Hospital."
Race attendees can show their support by making either donations or flexible pledges according to the number of laps lead, races won, or podium finishes in the World Challenge series. Traxxas-stjudes.com is the destination for information about supporting St. Jude Children's Research Hospital via the Traxxas/Amsoil/SPX/Ford Mustang.
Watch the race online! Go to www.world-challengeTV.com for streaming coverage on April 17, 7pm EST.
About St. Jude Children's Hospital
Since the hospital was founded in 1962 by Danny Thomas, St. Jude's has made amazing advances in the treatment of pediatric diseases. In 1962, the survival rate for childhood leukemia was less than 5%; today, advances made by St. Jude Children's Hospital have ensured a survival rate of 94%. Other strides include Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma (7% survival in 1962; 85% today) and brain tumors (10% in 1962; 85% today). At St. Jude's, no child is turned because of a family's inability to pay, so the support that comes from donations is essential. To pledge your donation, visit Traxxas.com/childrenfirst.
