Mitchell DeJong Edition
At an age when most kids were pushing toy cars across the carpet, pretending to be race car drivers, Mitchell DeJong was winning his first racing championship. Now 15 years old, Mitchell is enjoying a racing career that has moved him from go-karts to off-road modified trucks and Legend cars. Young but experienced, Mitchell has raced competitively since he was five, and has proven himself a winner on pavement and dirt. His hard work has paid off with overwhelming success on Modified Kart courses, with a total of seven Championship titles to his name.
Mitchell's winning performance secured him his position as the youngest Red Bull-sponsored athlete in the world. While his peers are still looking forward to getting their drivers' licenses, Mitchell is already ten years into his racing career. He has the talent and ability to apply his skills to the full spectrum of auto racing, as he recently proved at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. He took the win in his off-road truck on the Speedway's short-course dirt track, then literally jumped out of his truck and rushed next door to the famous Las Vegas Bull Ring to race his Legend car on the 3/8 paved oval track. When the checkered flag flew, Mitchell took the win for his second victory in the same day!
Now, after an amazing 2012 Pro Buggy season, Mitchell has been crowned the youngest pro champion in TORC history. We are all anxious to see what the future holds for him. But one thing is for certain, Mitchell DeJong will be a driver to watch for years to come.
