dont go buying it as soonas you get the rest of the money
wait till traxxas releases it with the new engine (September 28th) and then buy it. make sure it has the new engine though

But i only have so much money. i don't know how much more money traxxas will make the rustler with the 2.5 in it.

I'm assuming it will definitely be the same price just the newer model cause they wont sell the old one, after all they have said the t-maxx with the new engine and alot of other upgrades is the same price, so the rusty has to be.

    just wait dude

hmm, the elec. rustler wont be much of competition, cause it may go 35 if hes lucky and the new rustler is supposed to go 47+, just as long as ur a decent driver i think ull do ok...

the rustler is good just ditch the stock plastic drive yokes for the axles they are WORTHLESS. and be careful the tranny may not like the new power (hopefully traxxas will address this issue) the rustler otherwise is very reliable. the rear shock tower is a lil weak so watch be prepared

People of this forum, myself included have been installing engines as powerful or even more powerful than the new 2.5 and racing them for seasons now with no driveline problems providing the slipper is adjusted properly. Lock the slipper and the Pro 15 can break the drive train. The NR trans is one of the toughest in the industry and the plastic yokes will stand up if things are adjusted right. I have raced for 2 seasons with the stock rear and front shock towers and have never broken either but I always drive with the body on and this protects and supports the shock towers.

This engine isn't strong enough to break the tranny. Heck, most .21 engines can't bust it.
Chris (I for got his SN, he's the mod from the vintage elec. forum) was racing it with the new engine, and I can insure you that the tranny and drive line is pure Traxxas.
I love the smell of nitro fumes in the morning!

i shattered 3 gears in my differential in my rustler after 3 months of driving with the stock pro .15, if u push it to the max it will break however it has not broken since. you can break anything if you try
