What's cheap to you? Expect to pay a $60 on just the motor. Combos are usually better deals and will better than $100 easy. Plus the stock XL5 esc wont work with a brushless.

I'd just run it til you burn the stock Titan up then look at Brushless.

I would get the castle creations sidewinder sct 3800kv motor esc combo, it is like $120. You could also get the sidewinder 3 4600kv you can get it close to $100

Agreed the brushless motor wont work with that esc. I'd run it till it burns up then upgrade later.

Youll need an esc to go with that brushless because the XL5 wont run brushless.

Motor/esc $100+ up to WHAT DO YOU WANT TO SPEND
    Batteries $30+ up to ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^

Theres a similar thread like this one right now.
Its suggested also to just run what ya got until it burns up. Read your manual and follow the break in instructions to get longer life out of that Titan motor.

Keep in mind if you upgrade to Lipo you will need a charger as well $50 and up for a decent balance charger

SPC are good batteries, I also like GENS Ace.

As stated, you need a BL ESC to run the motor. The Castle 3800 SCT is a great system and a lot cheaper than the VXL, the Hobbywing ESCs are ok, mixed reviews.
