    BigJon01's Trophy Truck build

So this is gonna be my 2nd Trophy Truck build. My first wasn't Traxxas based which is why it isn't posted here.
I picked up a donor Slash roller on Ebay the other day. Came with all the necessary, "get me started" items. I have all of my steel for the cage, Wraith rearend, rear trailing arms, Castle motor and ESC.
I'd love to see some pics of your custom Trophy Truck builds...

    This is my first.

What base truck did you use to make the 1/16 tt in your pictures?

These trucks look great! I should hopefully have some build pics up soon. Mine should look very similar to my 1:16 truck.

I ripped the tt over the weekend for the first time in a couple months. Worked flawlessly as usual and had a blast. Bigjon you need to get your truck built.

I started to lay out my chassis over the weekend. I also did some mods to the front suspension (picked up 3/8" of travel). Should hopefully have the base chassis going by the weekend.

I've been spending a bit of time finding a local supplier of lexan and ceramic clay. I will be vacuum molding my own bodies.

Finally started my build, working on the front end and main chassis rails this weekend.

Is there an easy way to post pics from my iPad?

Got a little more done on my chassis yesterday. Front bulkhead area is all welded up. Tonight I'm gonna start laying out my trailing arm mounts and lower chassis. Should start moving pretty fast.

Finally installed tapatalk. I'm a little further along then this...

Man I forgot you were making a 10th scale!!! It's looking good so far! Still plan on making your own trailing arms? If so they need to be pretty long because of your chassis' length.

Btw what kind of plate are you welding on?

Cycon, that is an 1-1/4" thick steel plate. Yeah I've already started on them. They will be 6" eye to eye. Thank you for the compliments!

I agree sean1214 and seanycool! I think its sweet! I like Project T(rophy)-MAXX!! And the craftsmanship is amazing. Also Ive noticed a lot more trucks that are being modded very heavily. I think we are all getting a bit restless because traxxas hasn't really released a "truly new" car. Am I right?

I think it's better that trophy trucks like these aren't really manufactured because it sparks more creativity and opens up doors for people to build things they can call their own.

Someone needs to come up with site just for these custom desert trucks. When I was building my truck a few years ago there was a site called scaledesert.com and it was just for custom built desert trucks. Unfortunatly scaledesert isn't around anymore.
