Use part 4954 or 4954x, which are parts from the Slayer. Or you can use Tekno RC parts for the Slash 4x4. They make a set of 12mm hexes that fit a 6mm shaft. Their upgraded driveshaft kit is upsized to 6mm shaft. You can buy the hexes alone without the kit. I use them on my E-Slayer, and my Summit LT conversion.

Just used the Tekno RC parts on mine TKR1654 and they work great for the 12mm hex. The 4954 traxxas part is actually a 14mm hex originally used on the slayer and the brushed version of the revo. I started going that direction but after an hour of sanding and only having one completed to show for it, I decided to go get something else and ended up with the tekno parts.

One thing you will have to do is make the pin slot bigger as it is made for the smaller pin of the slash axles. I used a 2mm hex key and heated it with a torch then laid it across the pin slot till the hub was level with the wrench. pulled it off let it cool and then trimmed the flash with a hobby knife.

If it didn't break you can do it again.

Glad this was brought up. I'm waiting for my tekno hexes to get here. Now I know what to look for when installing

Traxxas make 12mm for XO-1 which are 6mm.

Even better and you don't have to enlarge the pin area on the adapter and they are captured. Only drawback is that they cost about 4 times as much as the plastic...but they should last longer.

Are you planning to run slash wheels or beadlocks? The item mentioned a couple posts above will get you that.

Does anyone know if the XO-1 hex's (6869) referenced above use the large slayer pins versus the smaller pins the come from tekno? The pins in the tekno kit are the same size as the jato uses

The XO-1 ones listed above use the same threaded pin as the brushless revo.

The pin size is the same as the slayer.

Thanks for the quick replys, Aft and Hum. I bought the tekno's and they wobble. I'm going to try the XO-1's.

If you modify the tekno for the larger pin there is no wobble. Currently running them and they are as tight as the day I origanally installed them.
