Am I experiencing "cogging" or slipper clutch issues.

Traxxas rally with the aluminum motor bearing replacement.
    Battery 3s 5000 mah 30
Using the 19t pinion stock spur.
I added the Traxxas ESC fan and the Intergy heatsink/fan. After earlier bouts of thermal shutdown.
Issue: After about 10 minutes of running if I come to a stop it will not move forward unless I give it a push. Or sometimes I can get it to go if I hit reverse first.
Slipper clutch is adjusted to about 3/4 back.
Pinion gear seems to have a little play.

Has my earlier over heating caused some damage? To the motor or clutch?
Car is two months old maybe 35 runs. Seems to be be to quick to have major issues. Slightly disappointed to say the least.
    Thank you for your assistance.

Hmm, somebody was posting about the same issue on the Slash 4x4 forum. He said he contacted Traxxas, and they are replacing parts for him if I remember correctly. See if you can find the thread, or if I find it I'll link it.

Brief update after replacing the slipper clutch with the HD one from the e-revo. I have no more stalling. Awesome!
All, Thank you for the advice in all the posts. There are obviously things on the car that out of the box are really only good enough for the NiMH battery.

I am amazed! So your stock slipper would get so hot that it wouldn't allow the truck to move? Thank you for sharing your experience with everyone!

That seems to be the case. It may also indicate the motor has lost some initial torque and can't get over the high load of the frozen clutch. But 3 runs since no more "cogging" or freezing up. And still hitting good speeds.

That gearing seems pretty high with the Velineon. Do other people gear this high with it?
