Revo with a custom side pipe

Wanted to mount a side pipe on my Revo with a Losi 454 BB but I didn't want to butcher up a body. After lots of trial and error this is the final result...

It's made outta 5/8 steel tubing with .063 wall using brass rods to braze it together. Pressure line is 3/16 steel tubing with hose barbs brased on the ends for a clean installation. Since the line is external to the body I wanted it somewhat armoured. I think it's kinda Mad Max(ish) looking.

It's just got a cheap HPI pipe for now. If it proves to work out OK, I may go with something better. I do have a THS146B rear exit pipe for Revo's with Big Blocks for comparison. The lenght of the pipe may prove to take too much top end away plus it's a bit heavy. The Revo is right at 10 lbs with tires and body.

Pretty sweet. I'm not a big fan of the side pipe. Pain cleaning the rear wheel of dirt and oil!

I like the side pipe idea. And the fitting of the body is superb,

Yea, I know but I've found the back gets oily with the stock set up too.

Is there a header/manifold that will allow the sidepipe to clear the body? a i have the same losi454/lrp28 on my revo with a new era bb kit ,i also use the platinum body which is missing about half of the quarterpanel because of the side mount exhaust.

I have the opposite issue with the ths rear exhaust pipe. It's too big for the stock revo body to fit.

I could not find one that would clear the body so that's why I made my own. They say a CRT.15 manifold will clear but it's made for a smal block engine (<.2.1 cc)

You may find a BIG power loss at high end due to extreme bends right off the head. This bend could cause extremely violent back pressure bursts with a 2 stroke....

I run RD Logics 4 port exhaust headers on all of my Revo Picco Red Dot 2.6 and TMaxx 2.6 Red Dot. Extraordinary powerband. Blew out all original driveshafts and axles very quick, 3pad clutches key! Very dependable now...
