I want to go mamba micro

Hello I want to put a mamba micro pro with the 0808 4100 KV motor in my Teton. What do I need to do? Will the esc fit without mods? And what mods to I need to make for the motor to fit? Also how can I solder a trx connector to mamba micro pro? Any help is wanted thanks.

They esc does not fit right in. The motor plate needs to be modified. Some people have been opening up the banana shaped part. But I just drill out the single hole. I can put up pics of you want. And for the connector. YouTube. Squirrel has a good video on it

You don't need to do anything with the esc besides the connector and securing it down where the stock one was. It's just that black plastic guard that covers the receiver and goes around the stock esc hast to be cut on the esc side to fit in the wider mamba micro pro. I'll get some pics up

Here's the box and where I cut it

    And here's where I drilled. It's a size 5/32 bit.

I would actually rather go with the castle 0808 and the vxl 3m. So all I have to do is widen that hole with a 5/32 bit? How much do I drill

I went right down the hole so it opened it up equally all way around.

And does it matter about the motor/esc plugs do they have to have a certain combo I notice the vxl 3m connectors are color coded but the 0808s are all black

Nope but it will be quick, I used the Castle Sidewinder Micro on the rally and the ESC fits right in with minor dremel work to mount the motor.

The pro doesn't fit right in though. It's in a case, also has better parts. In my opinion it's worth the extra money

You need to look into the vxl 3m to make sure it can run the 4 pole castle motor

thats my hesitation from purchasing that combo. i wanted to get the vxl 3m with the castle motor but seeing that the motor was a 4-pole made me stray away from purchasing it.

ctually he did it with the mini. Otor that came before the four pole. Is the velioneon motor a 2 pole? I will look this up to see if it works and its worth a try I guess if it doesn't work you have a brushless esc and motor lying around

Yea it's a two pole. You can always just put the velioneon motor in your Teton

Take the plastic case off then you put liquid tape all over the circuit board. Then you would use a clear silicone over the lights so you can still see them. There are some videos on the tube on how to do it

So I just put liquid electric tape all over except for the led light and put clear silicone over that?

I will get metal driveshafts when I go brushless cause I won't get it for a month or so (want to wait) so I have bookmarks of products for brushless and waterproofing the brushless system. Is this all?

Yea, you might want to order spare spur gear, just to have. Also good lipos and a good charger if you don't already have those. Also, your going to want to glue your tires or your rim is just going to spin inside of the tire. I use superglue. Works great.

If your ESC and motor came with Bullet connectors installed then u don't need shrink tube. Every traxxas connection doesn't need shrink tube, that's why I like traxxas connector

The problems I had with the vxl-3m was with the 6800kv 2 pole motor, if you ran a 3s on this motor, the esc has a rev limiter..and no the vxl won't run the 4 pole castle motors, well it will but half as fast....now I run the mamba micro pro with 3s and am very happy. Now just need better driveshafts...lol

Thanks lipo power, I am going to do mamba micro with 0808 4100kv motor and I will waterproof the esc. Does the brush on electric tape work every time and just to be safe could I put a ton on so I don't see ANY circuit board?
