New to summit and don't like the exv2

    I love this summit.

But, the stock speed control is not my favorite. I run 4s lipos with a stock Titan motor and the speed is plenty, but I don't like that the speed control has no crawler option.

What is equivalent to a Novak rooster and can handle 4s? A MM2 esc?

From what I read, this is a killer crawling ESC:

I think that if you want "crawling options" then you might want at Tekin's RX8 or the Viper ESC. I have the RX8 and it's great, but not waterproof like the Viper. I have never ran the Viper, and I haven't heard much about it. These are both sensored ESC's, and sensored is the only way to not have any cogging. A stuttering type motion when moving really slowly. The Mamba Monster ESC cogs really bad at low speeds.

He's not asking for a brushless system... just a crawling ESC for a brushed motor.

(The MM2 can control both brushed and brushless)

The RX8 can run brushed motors as well, but it's probably more then he wants to spend.

Castle just put out a 1/8 waterproof sidewinder that runs up to 6s is castle link compatible and fully programmable. Runs brushless non censored an brushed motors. Its on my wishlist and is worth a look. Will be released very soon.

Thx jimmy. Not going to run brushless. I already have MM2s in my maxx and revo and like them, but you don't see many using them with brushed motors. They do have the crawler option that can be programmed by the castle link. I think I might get one and try it. If it works then parts are standardized across the platforms I run.

But IDK if the SW 8th handle the volts needed to run a heavy truck like the Summit. On Castle's info page it says for RCs 11lbs and under.

Well, if you don"t want to waterproof you ESC, i'd say go for the MM2, with a brushed motor, i don't think you'll have problems.
