    Thinking of getting one.

My mini isnt good off road so im thinking of getting a stampede 4x4 vxl. I want to get some proline sand paws for it and some tires that I can race around the lawn with. I will probably be going through sand snow grass and dirt. Any gearing recommendations for 2s lipo? Also what tires are good for normal bashing?

I like my mashers or trenchers for bashing. And honestly i run stock gearing on 2s 12/54 but i have castle sct 3800 in my truck so its a little more power than stock. Sand paws are awesome at the beach and snow. Good truck though veryyyy reliable

    Just my 2 cents

It's an awesome little monster truck man I would say the same as K money you can not go wrong with mashers or trenchers they both rock.I had my trenchers for ages running on and off road and the grip was spot on and the don't wear quick....peace

I think mashers would be better than trenchers in the snow but no where near as good as sand paws......peace

For an all around bashing tire, trenchers seem to take the cake, closely followed by the mashers. As stated above, the sand paws would be ideal for snow and sand running though.

Are there any things that need to be addressed out of the box? Weak diffs, weak axles ect.

Depending on your driving style and battery used, the rear axles seem to be the weak point for the p4de. Many people upgrade them to either mip or tekno replacements, which both are a bit costly but a good investment none the less. The stock, plastic motor mount also doesn't seem to last. King Headz makes an aluminum replacement that will be a great improvement. Other than that, upgrade as parts break and you should be set.

The one thing if running 2s only is the aluminium bearing adapter part number 6893x.But if 3s upgrade the driveshafts to mip, teknos,or traxxas steel cvds and get the kings head motor mountplus if you like the jumps get aluminium shock caps......peace

Ok. So for jumps and 2s abuse I should get a motor mount, and aluminum caps. What is the bearing adapter?

What is the difference between the 2 traxxas aluminum motor mounting plates and the kings head one?

The kings head uses a bigger bearing which needs less maintenance.but I use the traxxas aluminium one with a ceramic bearing and it's running like butter....peace

    I only run 2S...
I've had to upgrade ALL of these except the shockcaps (went Traxxas BigBore instead)

Kingshead motor mount is a higher quality piece than the Traxxas one...
My LHS strongly suggested the KH one that he could not supply versus the Traxxas one he could.

The traxxas one is very well made its just the bearing size is smaller.I have had mine over two years and it's been awesome at dissipating heat and stopping chassis flex but you do need a good bearing in thereand I do run 2s and 3s with a tenshock 4 pole torque monster......peace

With 2s you will probably only need the shock caps, bearing adapter, and the rear axles. The kingz head motor/traxxas motor mounts are not a necessity at this point but are a good investment.

Its plastic and has a smaller bearing Vs king headz. Most people that I know run 2s and don't have many issues.
But the Aluminum bearing adapter is a good idea even on 2s

The stock one is plastic and it retains heat instead of dissipating it and the aluminium one stops chassis flex....peace

I will be getting a proline chevy 2500 hd body and I will paint it black to try to make it look my real truck.
It'll probably look a bit shorter though.

Look into the material they use to cover home hi if speakers that should stop the snow but still let air get the the brushless setup to keep cool. And use Velcro to hold in on the chassis....peace
