    Saskchauch's slash ultimate

Hey guys just a quick intro. I have been on the fence for a while about getting into the R/C hobby, but finally took the plunge and ordered a slash ultimate. It showed up today and all I can say is this truck is insane. I'm sure I will get used to the power but not having much R/C experience this is a handful. .... and I like it.

will post some pictures ect soon.

Be sure to take your Ultimate out to the BMX track behind the Lakewood Tennis dome. Then do a round out on the near by baseball diamond, you'll leave grinning ear to ear

So I picked up a few parts when I was in Calgary this weekend. When I got home I drove by a new hobby shop that is just getting ready to open up in Regina Saskatchewan called, remote control hobbies. I ended up snagging rpm control arms, rear bumper, and mud flaps. Anyway here are some pics so far

That looks great! One of my favorite OEM bodies.

The new store in Regina looks to have good inventory.

    Nice looking truck!
It looks insanely beefy sitting low like that!

It sort of gives the old tired expression "less is more" a revival!

Well I went for my first real bash today.... she doesn't look so pretty anymore hahah.

Im thinking that spraying some bedliner on the inside of the body could have helped a bit

Ordered a onyx 245 charger today as well

You have a great looking truck there! I have had that body on my Ultimate Edition since February 2012. It is beat to death now but that will always be one of my favorite bodies. It looks like you are well on your way in the addiction, don't worry you aren't alone.

So after beating this body to heck, I'm thinking about getting a replacement. From what I have been reading are the proline flotek the best body to go with?

I was able to stop in at the Remote Control Hobbies this Sunday while at the football game. He has a good supply of inventory. Surprisingly they did not have Black Lexan paint either. Everyone is saying paint is hard to get these days....

The prices are reasonable, maybe not so much on the paint, but on all the RTR kits and most parts, they are in line with Great Hobbies, so this is good to see!

I am quite fond of the new MacCachren body myself. It has taken some good hits and so far ( fingers crossed ) no cracks or anything. I already have another for when this one wears out. My last body lasted me from January 2012 until August 2013.

yeah I reinforced the body with shoe goo and fiberglass tape. I also used the rpm body saver clips. I think I would have had better results with the larger white traxxas body washer. I was toying with the idea of getting a body sprayed with bedliner, like the ones on ebay... but they are kind plain looking

All I ever do to my bodies is put duct tape on certain parts on the underside of the body. I have gotten good life out of my bodies without the shoe goo and drywall tape. I may try that method one day.
