    Revo VXL Axles for Summit

Are the Revo VXL axles a direct replacement or do you also have to replace the A-arms on the Summit with Revo A-arms for them to work?

From what I understand they are a direct replacement. The telescoping feature let them fit easy. Its the steel revo shafts that won't work they don't telescope, so you would need to convert to revo arms and rockers to limit the suspension travel.

Why are the erevo axles stronger I was looking at both, and the ones in the summit look like a better design.

For me when the stock axles break it's at the pins. The pins holding the the u joint together are tons bigger. They can't match the angle the summits run smoothly at, but the summit doesn't need those angles.

Do the ears on the sliders ever pop off the merv pins?

Mine did until I installed a center differential.

You could swap out the Merv crosses for Rustler crosses. There was a thread on that a while back... the Rustler crosses have longer pins, making it harder for the ears to spread far enough to pop off.

    Thumbs up

Nice Rustler crosses/u-joints. I've always liked the ingenuity of R/Cers. Back years ago I ran Kyosho electric USA-1s exclusively. They're was very little aftermarket support. So I machined and built a lot myself. I actually used Traxxas sliders for it but with 14cells and mod motors I'd spin the ears off the crosses, so I used Juggernaut square u-joints machined down a bit. They have little bitty e-clips that keep the ears from popping of the pins. Then I just started twisting the ears off the sliders. Maybe because I was jumping off of skateboard launch ramps @ 40+mph over cars on pavement! with locked gear cases front and rear.

I have worked on both of those RC's.... USA1 and the Juggernaut.
