    Difference's between Pede & Slash 4x4

I'll be in the market for a roller soon and not sure what the difference's are. Is it shock length and A-Arm length? Transmission gearing?

OK. So I need to decide which one I want to build then. Since sons MJ is a basher and we have no real tracks close I suppose I should stick with a pede4 then.

I assume you are comparing the high center of gravity Slash 4x4 with the Stampede 4x4. If so, the differences are:
    - Chassis with nerf bars (Slash)
    - Center driveshaft with cover
    - Battery hold down
    - Receiver box
    - Bumpers front and rear
    - Front body mounts

Everything else (except wheels/tyres and body) are the same.
Sorry, if I have forgotten something. If so, I'm sure somebody will correct me .

P4de all the way. Unless your going to be racing any time soon, the P4de is the better basher...

Thanks guys. I'm going to go after a pede4 roller then. The new castle SV3 3800 is going to go in it My son has enough power with titan at this point. I'll go through a couple motors for him before I get him BL system for his MJ.

I got a roller. Castle Sv3. I have wheels and tires I'll use from his MJ for now. I need a body and a Trans/ Receiver. Is there any advantage to going more than the standard 2.4Ghz traxxas controller?

Great choice! You will love the P4de...

The Castle 1410 3800KV is a great motor for 2s, and it's a direct drop-in without modifications (just be careful with the length of the screws when mounting it to the motor plate - I believe 3x6mm will fit).
According to the reviews I have seen the Sv3 may run quite hot in the Stampede 4x4, so watch your temps!
I've seen people using the Castle motor cooling fan on the Sv3 - could be a good advice .

The Sv3 kit I got included the castle fan for the Sv3 and motor so I should be good right??

What about transmitter and receiver though? I was/am planning on just going with the standard Traxxas one like my sons MJ.

The traxxas radio and receiver is awesome for your truck and keep an eye on temps with the sv3 so a temp gun is a must for this hobby.some people have put another castle motor fan on the esc as well to keep it running cooler.....peace

So if I have a fan on the motor and ESC will it be OK? That's what I'll have.

It all helps and maybe start with a 13t pinion and see what type of temps you get and go up or down a tooth accordingly...peace

Stock gearing on a Stampede 4x4 is 11T pinion and 54T spur, whereas the Slash 4x4 has a 13T pinion (smaller tires).
As spennie says, keep a temp gun within reach. I believe you may have to gear down if you start out with a 13T pinion, but the only way to tell for sure is to try it out .

From a bashers perspective the Traxxas radio is just fine. The only weak point is the plastic gears on the stock servo (#2075), but that will depend on how hard you are on your truck .

The castle motor is a 4pole and does not over heat like the vxl that's why I would start with a 13t instead of a 11t dude......peace

Cool! It came in today. Looks awesome! The p4de roller should be in later this week. Then I build and star the process all over Lol.
I'll have to freshen up on the maintenance of the p4de since it has more moving parts and all.

    I know, my friend!
But I'm not thinking about the motor - my concern is the Sv3 ESC.

Cool. Can't wait. Still waiting on the custom painted pro line bronco body. And need a radio. Then a few upgrades here and there got toughness.

If you are using the proline bronco body the stock body posts at the back will not be tall enough so get the adjustable proline body post part number PL6087-00 or the ones for the traxxas telluride part number 3619.....peace

    That's plenty for me, too!

Love the Bronco body . Just take a lot of pictures before you bash it (but if it's custom painted, maybe it's for the shelf?).
Keep posting as you go along - always interesting to follow P4de's coming together.

    Ha, ha... I second that!
I really like to see a hard bashing session. However, I don't like to trash my own truck too hard... :
