    Is it the Clutch Shoes?

The other day my 3.3 Jato stopped moving but the engine rev'd fine when hitting the throttle. Today I took it out and I have to apply the brake or it will go full rev and take off. Does this sound like a clutch shoe issue? I just always thought if it was the clutch it wouldn't go anywhere (kind of like how it was behaving the other day) If so, what clutches is everyone running. Just Traxxas stock? Thanks!

Ya, having it stop moving sounds like the slipper clutch is too loose, and having it move at idle is a bad clutch. The best clutch IMO is the MIP clutch. It lasts longer than the stock clutch, and it has more "grip".

Two things: if the truck will want to move when starting and will stall when you come to a stop then the clutch is bad. If the engine revs but the truck does not move (assuming the clutch bell and spur gear are spinning) then it is the slipper clutch.
If it wants to rev up while sitting still, check your tune.
