    Charging Questions

I have a EZ-Peak Plus and I decided to do a storage charged on my 2s lipo 4000 mah the first time. I charged it at 0.1 amp and after I checked it a few times I noticed that something is wrong. Both cells were at 3.78v, but when switched back the general info, total voltage is a 7.52 as it should be 7.56v.

I'm also wondering the way I'm charging it. I always charging it at 4 amps ether to 3.8v/cell or to moslty 100% and have the capacity cut at 4200mah. Now I'm thinking if I charged at 3.8v/cell at 4 amps, should it be charged at a lower ampage? For example, if the charging progress was stop at 2000 mah at 4 amps should it be charge at 2 amps to finish the charge.

About the cut off, is it better just to have it at 4000mah rather than to get extra run time? I know my charger cuts back on amps once the battery reach peak and sometimes it stops before 4000.

I'm trying my best with my first lipo, but I think I am still far away from getting another one.
    Did you say Traxxas?

    Yes with or without lipos.

There is no benefit to setting the amperage for less than 1C... which for you would be 4 amps. The reason amperage drops off at the end of the charge is because that is when it is entering the final stages of charging, aka balancing.

I have my mAh cut off turned completely off... terminating by voltage is completely OK.

As far as the voltage drop... it could be the cells settling from the charge?? or a calibration issue??
May a call into Traxxas is in order to get to the bottom of that one.
Whatever it is I just typed... could be wrong.

Can you change the storage charge amperage from 2 amps to higher?

Probably not. Storage charge features have limitations on most chargers.

All batteries have cell settling... no matter what chemistry. They are going to measure a different voltage right off the charger to a few moments later.

I had a feeling you were going to say that but figured it was worth a shot.

The iCharger line doesn't have the amp limitation for storage charging... I don't think Revolectrix chargers have it either.

I gave Traxxas call and the guy on the phone said as long the both cells are both are alright it should be ok.
    Did you say Traxxas?

    Yes with or without lipos.
