There seems to be no luck with this boat..... I would try a Castle Hydra system over the others now with a Castle motor...

    I have smoked two 180 ESC's.
One, because I was pushing the boat hard running a 4074 2000Kv motor on 6S with a large prop.
The other just died after spurting the boat ahead about 4 feet on the very first run.
I sent both back for warranty consideration, and both were replaced without question.

The 180 ESC's are not necessarily any better quality than the stock ESC, they are just rated for higher amps, which is advantageous.

Also, anytime they manufacture mass quantities of electrical components (or any other item for that matter) there will be a certain percentage of failures.

There are several Spartan owners running 180 ESC's with overall great success and reliability.

I run them in three boats, and have a significant number of trouble free runs overall.

So anyone else running a SK 180? I have a heavy feeling that my new ESC solderjob is about to die and this time it won't go back for repair/replacement...
