    New QR-1 came in today!

Cannot wait till the batteries finish charing so I can mess with it. Since I got an extra three batteries should I just charge them even though I dont plan on using them right now?

Or are they ok to just leave for a day or two.

Not going to lie it is a lot harder than I though it would be. And I have some flying experience lol. Well 3 channel helicopters and scale nitro/electric planes. I do like it so far and seems to be pretty tuff after the mess I just put it through trying to get it to hover right

Annnnnnd I think I broke one of the motors lol. I'm not quite sure how though. It didn't crash before it quit working but I did crash quite a bit before that. When I try to spin the motor by hand it feels tight compared to other other three.

What could have caused this and how do I go about fixing it?

Called traxxas and they sending me a new motor. I'm cool with that lol. But the motor I have still works. I uploaded a video to show what I mean.

It's too bad you are having a harder time flying than you thought, but to be honest I'm kind of relieved to read that because it means I'm not the only one ! lol Its way harder than it looks, every time I go near a wall it seems I panic and don't know what to do, or I look at the radio to figure it out and by that time I crash! At least its hovering so just practice, practice, I guess!

Not sure whats wrong with your motor, but they are small and cheap so its easiest to just replace.

    Good luck, and happy flying!

Yeah man it's just going take some practice for sure. I've got about seven packs thru mine before it messed up. Ive got it trimmed almost perfect and can make big circles and bring it back and all that lol. But I do get messed up with the rudder by making the whole thing spin and changing the direction "normal" of movement. The reason why I bought a traxxas was for customer service. They are sending me a new motor no questions asked. Gotta love that.

Thanks buddy and happy flying to you!!

That's just the nature of becoming an RC pilot dealing with the QR-1. I was frustrated the same way you guys are. But now Im pretty good with a quad-copter and im happy with the LaTrax quadcopter. its 10x better than the QR-1. maybe you guys will look into that after you've learned the QR-1

Ya frustrated is a good word, guess I just assumed I'd be flying right away- it looks so easy in videos! But I will keep practicing-I can hover and go forward/backward- I just have a very small space to work within.

I will definitely check out the LaTrax Quad, didn't know they made one...

@mrtwohands Circles? I'm impressed, you are are couple steps ahead of me then! Thats encouraging, I'm off work today gunna practice, practice, practice! Can you do banked turns and have you tried expert mode yet??

Yeah man once I get pretty proficient with this one I plan on buying the Alias.

I know what you mean. I am doing it in my garage and theres not a whole lot of room. Once I get my replacement motor I plan to take it outside. I have tired expert mode once for a min. A LOT more movement and responsive. But I don't think I'm ready for that lol. Circles were not that hard for me to do since I do have a little flying experience. Just like with anything else it will just take us noobs a lot of practice. I still have a looooong way to go from the videos I've seen lol.

I just checked out the LaTrax Alias and that seems like quite the machine! Looks way better than the QR-1 and I just bought the QR-1 about a week or so ago, and now I see the Alias is available at my preferred online store!! It wasn't there when I ordered my QR-1.....I would of went with the LaTrax!

Oh well, it looks quite larger and maybe I should get some flying experience with the small one first
