    Lightning McQueen body / decals

My 3 and 4 yr old sons can handle my Merv pretty well, so I made them a Lightning McQueen body. It's a Jconcepts Hi-Flow body, painted red with decals placed on the inside (before spray painting it).

    Here's the result.

    And the decals used:

that looks great, an OFNA red spoiler would finish it off nicely

That is awesome, my family has wanted me to do a Lightning for ages, but I've not bothered, until now! - I'm inspired!

Found some on the net, but ended up redoing them for 95% in Photoshop :-)

I did have a few problems, which I havent solved. When I applied the decals on the inside (printed in reverse, on transparant decal sheets), I knew that painting over it in red would not flatted the colors of the decals, they need a white background. I hand painted the decals after applying them with some white standard primer paint. When this was dry, I sprayed the inside red. The result was really good, but after a while, the inside where the white paint was applied, started to show ripples(?) and comes off really easily. A solution would be to print the decals on white sheets and then use cut them out very precisely, but that wont work for all of them.

Also, make sure not to use velcro tape on the inside of the body where the decals are placed, you will rip the decals off when removing the body from the vehicle.

Great! Looking forward to seeing the result. Make sure to read my last post with some tips on how to improve the result.
