    Question Carbon Fiber hood

I just bought a new body for my Nitro 4-Tec.

Does anyone know what is the best way to paint a carbon fiber look on a Toyota Supra Aero body? What is the best way to do it, paint on or buy the carbon fiber roll and cut it out?

I would try to use a carbon fiber decal sheet. I think Parma makes one. Seems like it would be pretty easy to cut a hood shape out and apply.

    Hope this helps!

I've heard of people using the rubber mat for shelving that has all the little square holes as a type of template. I am not a painter by any stretch of the imagination (all my bodies are ProGraphix or one color) but with the right touch it comes out looking nice.

Yea i seen youtube videos about the rubber mats. This will be my first body I paint. Don't want to mess it up.

Unless you are proficient at an airbrush, don't try to paint it. If you can find an internal decal, that's your best bet.
If not, search online for carbon decals or 1-1 car wraps. It's cheap and easy to work with. Easy to replace too.

Don't get too worked up if it doesn't come out right. Painting is a skill that's learned and you'll have some setbacks from time to time. Just think of any of these bodies as basher bodies. You're not likely to see a messed up line in the paint when it's going by at 70mph anyway.

You can buy a carbon fiber decal sheet that goes on the inside. I can't remember by who, I will do some research. I used it on bug body for my 1/16 summit. It turned out really well. I found it, it is made by spaz stix. Like I said it is an internal decal, trim, stick on from the inside and paint over it. I have had mine for awhile and have had no issues, looks really good. I will load a picture from my phone.
