    Just another Slash Build

So im thinking a BackBajr build - just ordered the wing and mount. The body and paint will most likely be next paycheck. Any thoughts or pics of what you have done or seen for inspiration are welcomed.

I had this body for my MT 4x4 Slash, it was one of the few bodies that provided the wheel clearance I needed.

One of the things I really like about this body is that it seems like it is a lot thicker than other bodies I have used, and it is really easy to paint. What I really don't care for is how tall this body is, makes the truck really top heavy.

I'm in the process of creating a decal for the door area on Bajr body. Does anyone know the length n height from wheel well to wheel well n from the bottom to the window?

I don't know any dimensions, but I can tell ya that with PL body mounts, you can lay the BAJR body right on the shock towers.

Are the proline mounts located differently than the stock mounts?

Yes, they are fully adjustable for height. They install in the same locations, and the posts slide through square holes. The PL mounts have more height adjustment than even Monster Jam mounts, and they are stronger than any of the mounts I've tried, which is all of 'em!

LOL, I've been seeing a lady for a while now and decided to let her get an idea of how much I enjoy Rc's.
I believe after stopping at two lhs's Friday and dropping over a grand in less then three hours aided her perceiving my rc addiction in the future .
This was a rare day as the amount was one of my biggest one day rc extravaganzas since getting back into the hobby but what better way to propagate a point and start a new relationship.

I never had many hobbys in live however events of the last decade have taken my physical ability to do much of anything away making rc's and the hobby in general a gift from above.
I believe we should be thankful for what we have and not linger on what was.
Traxxas got me started and the slash is still imo the toughest most well rounded rc sct out there, its just a great time to spend with the kids and grand-kids.

Wear wise I see no real difference however even tho I bought another set of buttons I've yet to miss place one of the originals and they do a lot for bling as well, you'll be quite happy with their versatility.

You can take the extra stability bar out of the rear mount to make it lower, it was at a perfect height for me so I left it where it is in the pic.
Removing it will give you near an 3/4" more down ward travel.

Till I get my pro line mounts I decided to cut the stock towers in the front.
And put the rear ones on in reverse.

If I don't like how they lineup on the body when it gets in then I will swap them out.

This is one of the reasons I like having a reasonable lhs, however I am a very impatient person and wont think twice about paying more to have something when I want it, but they cant stock everything either.

i figured if im replacing them y not try to use them for the Bajr mount instead of the back middle post on the stock tower. i was thinking2 mounting holes are better than one for weight distribution. But i could be totally wrong that was at 2am.

also found out my rear driveshaft is about shot - gonna replace with 4x4's for now n save up for the tekno's

I too am a huge fan of tekno axles, I had considered going with the traxxas cvd's on a rig as they look extremely realistic and are said to be very strong, but after some research I'm finding they have their weak points.
Now the xo-1 has 6mm axles, I nearly bought one for parts.
Teknos are the best I've found so far, if there is a better axle set up in existence I haven't found it yet but never say never.

These look awesome but not sure of their durability, I still might install a set for winter shelf queen appearance.

They look like near replicas of 1:1 car constant velocity joints, if I wasn't such a fan of tekno I would have purchased them already.
Really looking forward to how they perform in real life but I think they'll be awesome.

I think the vxl and xl5 use the same shafts but the 4x4 uses stronger ones. I use the hd 4x4 axles on my outdoor truck with the protrac kit because there's no cvds to run with the protrac arms. I still go thru them faster than id like but they are way better than stock.

Don't know never looked it up but I'd figure the Vxl n xl5 have the same driveshafts. Still only asked about the 4x4 driveshafts.

Thanks that's what I thought I read a few months ago.

I got bored so I made a little brace to go from the wing to the wheelie bar mount. Whether it needs it or not.

Took it out briefly with out a body, and I'm liking the tires. Def more grip on the blacktop. The steering seems to respond faster- I'm thinking due to the smaller than stock front tires.

i have been looking at some supersales tires which leads me to, what would be a good conversion set to go 17mm?
