    Motor Bearings

The bearings in the back of my 1800kv Castle motor (stock) have started to fail . The measurements are 15x5x5mm. Does anyone know of replacement bearings for that motor. Castle would probrably replace it but I would like to upgrade the bearings. I also dont have the desire to wait 3-5 weeks without running my boat . Any ideas?

    The bearings are actually 5id x 14od x 5wide.

You need something that can withstand high RPM and high temps.

I would checkout bocabearings, they are ceramic which I don't know if that's good or bad but have heard good things about them in land vehicles. Not all bocabearings maybe ceramic but I know there is an option or something.

    I install Avid ceramic bearings 5*14*5 http://www.avidrc.com/product/1/bear...-bearings.html
It's easy to change them, you just have to heat the bearing and they fall off of the motor cover

    sorry for my poor english

Well my boat was making a funny sound. I brought it back to shore and the driveline was seized. Opened the motor and out fell bits of bearing guess I will be getting some new bearings!

I'm guessing you will need a new motor. The same thing happened to me, and the magnets sucked all the debris into the core of the motor and took out the armature.

Bocas are excellent. If you order from them I highly recommend getting a thrust bearing to protect the rear bearing from failing again.

Can't remember the exact size, the id just has to be 5mm or larger to go over the shaft. I had some tamiya bushings I used as spacers.
