    Cool rustler vxl new user

    Hey,,,,

I'm new to Traxxas/ purchasing a 2nd hand Rustler with lots of upgrades.

I purchased a mamba max esc with the highest KV offered by Castle for another vehicle.

Will the Rustler be able to handle this???

I'm concerned about stripping gears, melting wires, etc..more then breaking parts.

    Thanks!.

Well to start with you are in the Rally forum not the Rustler forum, also what kv rating is the motor exactly.
The cars ability to run the motor without destroying itself depends largely on the voltage of the batteries you plan to use and your driving style.
With great brushless comes great responsibility.

Engines burn fuel, motors use electricity.

That seems to be an extremely high kv rating... also, that motor will be spinning at over 110,000 rpm on 3S.

    Here is the Rustler section:

Those that have that RC can probably answer your questions better from first hand experience.
Whatever it is I just said... I could be wrong.

Its is fine you messed up, one of the moderators will probably move this to the right place on the forum.
So you are going to be running a 3s lipo battery according to your list.
A 9000kv motor is really high kv so it is high on rpm's but low on torque, I am not sure how well it will run, it might be to high kv, but I would wait to see until another member posts.

^^^^^edit: did not see that post.
