What would the secondary motor and ESC be used for?

i don't think it is possible. The 3position swich works with ch4 & ch5. those two channels are sending different signal through differents wires. so the ESC wouldn't receive the signal from one or the other channel.

You could probably do it with a old school speed control.

It may, but still not on channels 4 or 5... the only other channel it might work on is channel 3; and even then the thumb switch would need to be modified to have 3 positions.
Whatever it is I just typed... could be wrong.

using the locker control switch and a micro servo you should be able to set it up so you have forward and reverse

The top switch has 3 positions. With the mechanical controller you could just move one of the wires to a different spot so your neutral would line up with the switch

Yes, it does have three positions... over two separate channels. There is no way to have a center in either channels 4 or 5. Channels 4 and 5 are half channels.

Still doable. 2 feeds to one servo.. add a resistor or something inline so voltage only goes one way (would have to look it up been a while since i played with electronics) and does not feed back to rx.

Haven't opened the Tx yet but hoping maybe I can just add some small springs under the red hi/low toggle switch so that it balances in neutral. I have several drill motors I can use instead of buying a new 380 .

It will take some digging, but there is a step by step how to in the radio section on how to mod the switch to function as a 3 channel.

It would still be easier and less expensive to get a hacked GT3B/8channels combo to do what you want to do. My 2 cents!

    8 Channel Rx = $12

The larger receiver will not fit in the stock Rx box... I bought a project box to mount mine in.

I too, will hack it to 8 channels for you... just send it to me and cover shipping out to you.

I looked at overkill they are out of stock on the gt3c .Im on the waiting list myself.
    A bunch on eBay though.
To bad it is not as simple as the am tx was I added a cutout switch that centered the high low switch that's what I did on mine.
I made a winch out of a 1/5 scale servo.it would pull it up a tree if need be.lol

    Sent using lipo power

Ok so it will run a secondary esc and motor on ch3 but ch4 and 5 only allow the motor to turn in one direction or off. I will go with the Gt3c later so I can add a snow plow just wanted to see if I could get this to work for now. Still gotta open the Tx so I can peek inside.

Took 2 of the battery springs from one of my cheap rc's and placed them under each side of the red toggle switch . I had to cut a small groove in the bottom of the toggle switch with a hacksaw blade to hold the springs in place. Then super glued the red part because the springs were a little stronger then i needed.

The spring on the right wanted to kick out at the bottom so i soldered a small piece on to stop it.

I have not painted the body it looks as though it was made this way but i have never seen another one like it and i search ebay all the time looking for a spare just in case . It does have a few spots that is slightly faded and looks like more of gold color . My son found this one at a Flea market for 6 bucks and wouldn't stop crying until i bought it good thing. As for the color i'm not real sure myself guessing metallic burnt orange or a copper something.

There is one on ebay right now that looks some what like Overkill .

This one is just like Overkill . Wonder if they would sell just the body.

The guy that owns the other truck really does not know how to enjoy the sport or builds. Gave 20 reasons why his is better than yours. I thought the whole point of showing off builds is for other people to see and learn from?

Not a problem mine is far from the best because it's built to my liking and what I need it for. I've seen several trucks on here much better then mine but it's my first build I'm sure they will get better with time.
