Believe it or not Overkill is my very first hobby grade rc ever. What little bit i know is because of this site mainly Jimmie Neutron correcting me when i'm wrong. That and lots of reading and research when i see something that interest me. Before i started on Overkill i spent every night for 2 months looking up parts and putting it together in my head.

As far as your diff servo is there any way you could make a video of it working and post on here?

I'm sure I can figure something out and post it but most likely gonna be in the next day or so I have a lot going on right now. But would love to have any input from you or anyone else when I post the video on how I can fix issue. New diff, new servo upgraded servo or whatever. I never even thought about posting a video to show the problem.

He don't want to have to be cleaning overkills tire treads if he runs over the Teton by mistake.

This gear reduction should give Overkill plenty of torque.

With the gear reduction its basically like having a 210 tooth spur gear. It should be right around 11.66 for the gear ratio compared to the stock Summit with a 4.86 ratio. I'm hoping it will help stop it from coasting down hill so much it can be a real pain to get this thing stopped without doing a stoppie.

Got the motor and trans mounted. Before the gear reduction i could roll Overkill around on the work bench and the motor would start turning over not anymore the tires just scoot across the bench now. I have a steep hill beside the house thats at least a 65 degree angle i would like to be able to stop on it without Overkill back rolling down at me like a missile.

It came at a small price but i got the esc mounted . I did find out that i was running the bec at 5.5 volts on the last esc .I cut the HXT 4mm plugs off the batteries and redid everything using 8 mm bullets and 8 gauge wire. Also set the CC Pro Bec to 6 volts . Chose not to add a 3rd batt to run the bec and just soldered it into the new series connector. I had short extensions running to the servos so i pulled the connectors apart and pulled out the red and black prongs cut them off and soldered the prongs onto the bec red and black wires and shoved them back into the servo extension connector. For some odd reason i didn't have to calibrate the esc and remote . When i tried it once again tried to jump off the table.
Took it out for a test spin and it does pretty good . Had to try out the hill beside the house . It wouldn't hold its spot on the hill but it didnt come running back at me either. I'd have to much more controllable now even in high gear until the clutch started slipping.
For the small price i was speaking about take my word for it don't ever catch your soldering iron with your hand just let that sucker hit the floor. They get pretty hot and it takes longer to let go of them you think.

At the end of March we are taking a family vacation to the Smoky Mountains in Tennessee . Not taking the cat or dog but Overkill will be there. Last time we where there the twins and i walked some trails up the mountains and i think Overkill will be up to the task. I hope they have a nice big hobby shop down there just in case i break something. Plus i'm gonna hit the wife up for a new Rc while there. Maybe a 4x4 brushed Stampede.

Thought it would be funny to make a video of Overkill and the stock Summit in a tug-o-war . I decided to do some testing today and since i had no one to help drive i only powered up the stock Summit . It wouldn't even budge Overkill once the slop was gone out of the trans. I first tried on tile floor then moved to carpet and Overkill's tires never rolled an inch. I even tried getting a running start and still nothing.

Its a dual motor mount from Kershaw Design for around 30 bucks.

I have dual esc mounted but to lazy to make the wiring harness to run them off just two 2s batts.

I had plans to pull My Ford Expedition but wanna wait until after i take Overkill to the Smoky Mountains in a few weeks. Didn't wanna break it before the trip . So much for that plan though.

    [IMG][/IMG]

The boys and i took the Summits out for some boy time today. Did a couple of high speed jumps and while i was changing batts in the other Summit i noticed this.. The solder didn't hold so i need to find a welder and fix it for good.

Its got so much torque now that it doesn't take much for it to pop a wheelie. I made 2 wheel weights awhile back weighing one pound each but they still dont help out that much.

I tested out the front dig idea back when it was stock by disconnecting the rear drive shaft and it got stuck on its own shadow. I think if I play around with the esc a lot more I can calm it down some . For me on the steep hills a little more speed help and throttle control at the peak. I do have a crazy idea that would help if someone wanted a more dedicated crawler . If a person could add a 1/16 slipper clutch to the rear driveshaft and tighten it so that the rear only slipped a little when the front end started coming up.

Tore it down and soldered the chassis brace until i can talk the wife into buying a welder. No more jumps at least for awhile anyway. Gonna put a couple of longer and thicker bolts in when i can find some.

Picked up some 3 inch bolts to replace some of the shorter ones . Gonna place them so that I don't have to take the whole truck apart just to get the batt plate off but so that they help support it better. Would like to find some hardened bolts instead of these cheap soft ones .

Would it be possible to run a cheap secondary esc and a small 380 motor off the stock Traxxas remote using the 3 position switch . I don't unlock the diffs so I could unhook them all I use is high and low.
