    I think im being bamboozled!

I purchased a truck in the marketplace, and paid for it on the 12. I got a tracking number. I enter the tracking number in FedEx or USPS tracking, and I get nothing. I also have heard nothing else since he gave me the tracking number.

What I find intriguing is, if someone were trying to pull a fast one on me, why bother to make up a tracking number?

The main reason for this post is that, through a little snooping here on the forum, I think it is coming from Canada (which was never mentioned). Would that affect how I need to use the tracking number? Would that affect shipping time?

What should my course of action be? The good news is we used PayPal.

If its shipped by Canada post then go to Canada post tracking website.
There is a possibility that some tracking # don't get updated til dayS after.

This was the number. That give any clues to where I need to enter it?

I just tried entering that # on fed ex, USPS, ups, dhl, can post and a few other odd ones.
    None of them are active.

I'd say give it 2 weeks and in the meantime contact the seller.

Thank ya! Means a lot to have posters that go that much out of the way to try to help. Pmed him, but it appears he hasn't been on since he gave me the tracking number. It just occurred to me to try the email I used for his PayPal.

becareful of emails from DHL and USPS or any other postage companies, They send an email saying something about postcode or zip address is unreadable and they will hold it for 15days, after which you recieve a charge of $5.55 per day. Then asking to open the attachment for more information. This is a virus. I sent a parcel via UPS that got damaged then recieved an email from DHL, DHL confirmed it's a virus, then after getting that cleaned up, I get the same email from USPS.

Just a warning because how did they know i sent a parcel just couple days before. Luckily i think it's all good now.

Best to contact the seller for additional information and follow-up with Paypal. Then post your experience in the Feedback forum.

U sometimes run into that with international shipments. I have had packages take 2 weeks to show up in tracking. Iv had some that would not show any info even if it was shipped. U are just going to have to just give it a few weeks. If I'm buying a private sale I always get all the sellers info before buying. Even a online retail ill verify the business before I buy

I looked up his forum and eBay feedback but that's all I thought of. Maybe next time a name and number will be in order too

Yeah, sometimes it can take weeks to get into the system. I bought some RC Parts off ebay once (with tracking included) and I waited about a week and it said "shipped" and "tracking information would be updated shortly" and I waited about a week and still no package info (even though I had the number of the "tracked" package). So I checked one day and it showed up that it left the Postal Facility and was "en route" and then my package showed up about a week later. I checked the tracking code after this and it was still "en route" for another half a week or week or so. So it can take some time to get updated... just be patient and try to contact the seller.

I will. There is a feedback thread there right now about this same seller doing the same thing and never responding. I've emailed and pmed. That's all I can do. I honestly think the tracking number is old from before I ever bought the thing. It said it was over ten days old and is expired and has not changed. My PayPal went through sept 11. I'm determined to wait until two weeks is up to do anything.

Seems to me someone would mention they are in the UK if the buyer is in sc USA.

You could contact parcelfarce and ask about the tracking number to see if it is an old item or just lost in transit. Items i get from the states normally takes about 15 days, so you might still get it. But contact them anyway then you know if you have been robbed or just the mail not updating.

Guessing is a good way to get big bills. If international calls are not a part of your plan you could be paying $$ per minute. I used to work for a major phone company, it would be best to call ATT before you make the international call.

I usually buy a $2.50 calling card from my corner store n can get about 1100 mins for US calling.
And for other countries oversea it varies from one to another but no surprises to worry about when the regular phone bill comes in.
