    Yup!!

I run cross country and track.

    So far my best 5K is 20:32. Splits were 6:12; 12:58; 20:32
    Last Saturday (7th) I ran 20:40. splits were 6:03; 12:55; 20:40.. I crashed on the 3rd mile. If I could not crash 3rd mile I'm sure I'd hit sub 20s.

We run at the fastest course this coming Saturday and hopefully I will run 19:00-19:30's..

My fastest mile is 5:55.. but that was in like 8th grade.. now a junior,

I thought about it but I'm too busy to do track or XC. Best I've ever done is a 7 minute mile when I was a freshman. I'm a senior now.

I run cross country, had a 17:28 3 mile freshman year. My first race for this year is this weekend, so I'll keep you guys posted. Lets just say my xc team is above 14th in the nation on the boys side and 2nd in the nation on the girls side....

on one of the eliptical-type machines i can run a mile in under 5 mins....... its a different story on pavement.

i think the resistance level is obviously different but also the motion on the eliptical is easier on my calf muscle (torn it in high school, never been the same) when i run on pavement it usually starts to strain/hurts

    5K: 20:51

    1 mile: 5:48

    800 meters: 2:08

    400 meters: 51.3

I discovered the 400 was my best race on accident, on a friday night home meet I was put on a randomly put together 4x400 relay team, my 400 went from 1:03 to 55 that night. 2:20 was a barrier I was trapped behind in the 800 for 2 years, until my senior year, our first track was an unofficial scrimmage meet, I chopped 8 seconds and ran a 2:12. What I discovered is to run your best race you need to put down the stop watch and focus on giving 100%. Instead of pacing behind the runner in front of you your IMMEDIATE goal should be to get in front of him. If you run the first lap of a mile in one minute, you probably won't finish at 4 minutes but you might realize just how much faster you can be.

Track. I did sprints and it is hard to believe I had my last captains practice in college start around this time...14 years ago. Did the 55/60m, 100m, 200m, 4x100, 4x200 and a couple 4x400s.
I don't like to run any further than that, though I can skate for 15-20 miles with no problem.

    I ran a 12.8 100M freshman year.. Haven't ran it since, now a junior. Probably could hit 12 flat..maybe a high 11.
    Ran a 26 200M in practice one day..doing about 80-85%.

They want me to run the 800M. I don't want to.. The best I've ever ran a 400M was in 60seconds..always die after 200M

Not really, the other day we ran a 13 mile workout when it was 107 degrees out... I would rather not have the times and enjoy what I run...

I had a meet today 5K.. Ran 20:30.. I know for sure that I could have hit 19:00-19:30 if it werent for my muscles tightening up the whole entire race.. After the race I wasn't even breathing hard.. Essentially I jogged a 20:30..

I ran a 7:30 mile in 8th grade but i only got that time because if we did lower then our past time then we didnt have to run the mile again because we had 3 wks of school left. I was the 3rd person done and i was hyped. Every one was impressed with My time because the last couple miles i had were 9 minutes or more.

Sean, you can always move to Ohio, run 17's and get top 10, depending on the meet, lol.. I'm trying for 19 flat to 19:30 this Saturday.

Every year we always run a 5K at the Ohio Caverns, very fun race, but it's extremely hilly and wears you out so fast. I tied with another teammate with a 21:15 ish.. that's really slow for me.. but my legs were really heavy due to hills..

Another bad report (by my standards), I ran a flat 3 mile race on saturday and got 18:05, 20 seconds slower than last year. I am really hoping the bad karma goes away soon.

So yet again this weekend a bad race, breathing problems are to blame on the last mile. time was 18:18. The first time mile spilts were 5:40 and 5:20 and then the breathing problems hit the last mile and had a 7:20 split....

But I found a McLaren 12C in the parking lot!!!

Saturday I ran pathetically.. I ran 20:56, that's up 20-30 seconds where I wanted to be and about a whole minute where I should be.. I can only try harder.. Nice job on being in the 18s and 17s!

Thats right. Even if you aren't the best, you are out there doing it and not sitting on the couch (with exception of after practice), I want to be in the high 16's and I am capable of it, but it is just not my season, you will only get faster....

Haha! You make a good point.. Once winter comes, I'll be chilling on the couch, or working an after school job, hopefully.
I can feel my cardio is great as I'm not breathing a hard as I ha to fist time I hit 20s this season..now I need to run faster, lol.

I knew a guy who ran 16:56 I think..he was an awesome dude..
